To start with as you walk in the garden is like a junk yard then you walk in through the entrance and it is not welcoming at all walk into the bar area no staff on and nobody in waited 10mins called and no one responded so left. This used to be our local but won't be going in until it vastly improves if the management want customers they will have to pull there fingers out and do some renovations soon and also put something out on Facebook to let people know what is going to happen as at the moment the impression is that it is going under.

Stopped off on way home from a trip to Scotland, it was a lovely Sunny afternoon so opted to sit in the beer garden. MISTAKE! Litter everywhere, parasol bases stacked up and totally unkempt, this has had some money spent on it in the past and has been left to rot, I’m surprised the surrounding neighbourhood haven’t complained as it is a real eyesore, wouldn’t even bother with food looking at the lack of interest in the pub, such a shame as it was a nice pub many moons ago!

Can't comment on the food but given the reviews I am not going to try it. This is a pub resteraunt with only one beer on and not a great one at that. No pinot, but at least some chardonnay. This is the third time we have been here in a month and rhe same story. Hardly ever any snacks either. They seem to have given up and are modelling themselves on the fairfield, instead of the stockton arms - both of which serve good beer. What a wasted opportunity - the owners shpuld be ashamed, but then they never answer any reviews....

11 of us went for Sunday lunch. It was hit and miss. We had a room to ourselves off to the right of the entrance. The room was great and quiet for a family catch up. The place was very understaffed (2 bar tenders and the chef). The carvery is no longer a carvery and is served plated. We were early and placed our orders without issue. Food was ok. Plated meat, roast veg, yorkshires and roast veggies were good. Accompanying broccoli and Swede/potato combo were swimming in water and tasteless - no one ate them. Once we finished eating, no one cleared our plates /asked if we wanted dessert etc. (we were there for more than an hour after). In conclusion, food Ok, service poor. Better places, so unlikely to return.

We went to the Parkwood for dinner last weekend. Really disappointed that our local pub has taken to politics. We don't care what the political leanings of owners are, but to put signs outside supporting the incumbent Conservative left us with a bitter taste in our mouths.

We booked the parkwood for my dad’s funeral and I really wish we hadn’t. The buffet was atrocious. We paid £12 per head and did not receive what was advertised. The description on the menu choice said ‘homemade sausage rolls, quiche, cakes etc.’ nothing was homemade it was all frozen poor quality food and there was not enough to go round. It was a hard day for us but made even harder by the embarrassment of having to ask for more food. Tried to contact the owners via email who have not contacted us back. Such a shame as this venue could be fantastic with the right owners.

We enjoyed a delicious Sunday carvery here with our family on the recent bank holiday weekend and would highly recommend. The food was hot, tasty and the price inline with other establishments were we have eaten Sunday lunch. The server on the carvery was welcoming friendly and helpful. He actively requested feedback on our carvery experience as this is a developing venture in its infancy. My husbands only niggle was cold plates….hot food soon cools on a cold plate. The server was extremely accommodating and warmed his plate….a happy customer. He also asked if anyone else in our group would like their plate warmed and took on board the need to provide warm plates. My only concern was the attitude of the bar/front of house staff……they were lacking in a positive energy. Friendly, welcoming staff make a huge difference to the successful running of a business. We would consider visiting again as the food service and carvery were top notch and fairly priced.

We have enjoyed dining out at the Parkwood Hotel many times in the past so we thought we would try the menu after the establishment had recently been taken over, We had been recommended the Homemade Smoked Wagyu CheeseBurger with Bacon Jam & Zesty Mayo, Sounds lovely doesn't it? Bit the expensive side at £16.95 but we were told it i worth it because of the quality of the ingredients. Unfortunately what we got instead was two frozen style burger patties without the jam & mayo as they had run out of Wagyu burgers, We had to ask for cutlery & none of the staff bothered to come across to see if our meals were OK & to top it off we were charged full price. Good luck with your new venture but if I were you I'd refrain from raving about how good your food is on Facebook if you are then going to serve substandard meals, the item should have taken off the menu rather than insult customers like this.

After The Parkwood Hotel had recently been taken over, My Daughter & Her Partner had visited for food and had expressed how great the Smoked Wagyu CheeseBurger was and the photo they forwarded made me want to try it so we went along with them and two of us ordered the Wagyu burger, we where then told they had run out so were offered two quarter pounder burgers instead and we had to pay the same rather expensive price of £16.95! When it arrived it was a pair of poxy frozen burgers with the Bacon Jam & Zesty Mayo mentioned on the menu also missing, After eventually receiving cutlery which the server had forgotten to bring we tucked into our meals & All I would say is it was edible, none of the staff bothered themselves to come over to our table to see if the food was OK & during the meal my Daughter's Partner mentioning how much poorer it was compared to the Burger he had recommended to us. Afterwards My Wife complained to the bar staff but they didn't seem concerned and gave her the e-mail of the establishment. Terrible way to treat customers & we won't be returning for food unfortunately. If you do go in there ordering the Wagyu Burger & they offer two quarter pounder patties instead choose something else, Not at all good for an establishment which has only recently re-opened and was raving about it's own food on facebook.
