Hotel Skeppsholmen, Stockholm, a Member of Design Hotels

Like being in a quiet garden, in the center of a big city. The best place to stay when visiting Stockholm. We were a party of 6 enjoying breakfast and evenings outside. Good sleep, relaxed atmosphere, good sights and dining in the city center and on the islands - we took the ferry to Waxholm.

So glad we chose this quiet, green island as our base for seeing the city. Super easy to get around and amazing to end the day and also wake up in peace and quiet! The outdoor chairs for relaxing as well as the garden seating and overall restaurant vibe is perfect. Limited menu, but excellent seafood. Would have been nice to have more vegetable choices from your garden at dinner as the breakfast was delish! We appreciated the simple style, attention to cleanliness and good water pressure; however the bed is quite plainly uncomfortable and tired. The double room should only be for one person. We would definitely recommend a larger room, perhaps they have newer mattresses as well.. Very kind and attentive reception staff and main waiter, the girls could be a bit less smug and more friendly during breakfast. Perhaps a simple good morning greeting would be nice and walking toward as opposed to scurrying away from guests is always preferable.

Love this hotel! This is my favorite hotel in Stockholm. The location is outstanding, they have the best breakfast and a great restaurant. Very friendly and professional staff and I love the Byredo bathroom amenities. To sit in one of the sun chairs in the garden with a glass of wine is wonderful. Can’t wait to come back.

We debated the hotel options in Stockholm before settling on Skeppsholmen. For us, the highlights were the unique location, easy access to a ferry to old town and museums, lovely room and outstanding restaurant. It was a very short walk to the public ferry and easy to get from one island to another. We found the room to be gorgeous with a generous size and loads of light. We ate dinner at the restaurant twice and the service and food were outstanding; breakfast was adequate and more options and staffing would have been appreciated. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and knew a lot about the area. The location itself is stunning and very walkable. A few things to consider; first, cabs/ubers had a bit of a hard time finding the hotel entrance so I wish I had reviewed the map in more detail in advance. For us, the surprising, less than serene aspect was the daily private events held at the hotel some of which were well attended and directly adjacent to our room or the restaurant. We also were disappointed at the noise generated from an event not at the hotel which went on well past 23:00. Since the phone in our room did not work, we wandered down to the desk and they were able to get the party noise reduced, thankfully. We appreciate the effort of the front desk staff to take care of this problem given it was not a hotel event but was very close to the hotel. Overall, I would definitely stay here again and I recommend considering this hotel if you are looking for a unique place to stay.

The hotel is located in an cozy environment on an Island in the middle of Stockholm. Very nice surroundings. The room was spacious and had everything we need. Good breakfast.

The most amazing hotel I’ve been to. Rooms were perfect, amenities were perfect and the staff were just incredible. I can’t wait to go back!
