The Grosvenor Stockbridge

Situated in Stockbridge, this accommodation provides an excellent breakfast experience, friendly staff, clean rooms, and beautiful decor. However, it lacks specific disadvantages mentioned by guests.

The Grosvenor is a lovely hotel with excellent staff and food. We stayed for 3 nights in the Cannon room which was very comfortable, especially the bed. Beautifully decorated with a great bathroom. We ate there on the 1st night and really enjoyed our meal. Trout croquettes for starters and mains were sole for me and sea bass for my wife which were all very tasty as was the dessert. Breakfast was excellent and the afternoon tea we had one afternoon was also very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel website contains. a pop up medallion from a review company called “Muddy Stiletto” which has awarded The Grosvenor the accolade of being the best hotel in Hampshire. I have no experience of other establishments with which to make a comparison but I can see where “Muddy Stiletto”are coming from! We stayed in a garden room which possessed a small patio and looked on to a large lawn. Due to the extreme heat and our advancing years we made full use of this facility, it being too hot to do much else! The bed was very comfortable and the walk-in shower was very effective. Contrary to what others have said the room was spotlessly clean. The food in the restaurant, the more than adequate breakfast through to dinner, was very flavourful and beautifully presented. The baked cod and the seafood linguini were delicious. This brings me to the management and staff. I cannot recall ever staying in a hotel where the personnel bend over backwards to make sure that guests are enjoying their stay. From the management down everything is done with a smile and has certainly made us determined to visit again some time in the future. If ever a hotel deserves to succeed this one does. They obviously realise that in the competitive hospitality profession (not trade!) superb service is a necessity. One last point. The staff all seem to get on well with each other which makes for great team work.
