We stayed for one night. Rooms were up to date and comfortable...if I had to ask for anything it would be for a mirror to put my make up on in as it was a little dark in the bathroom but other than that all good. Tea and coffee facilities and biscuits in room, iron ironing board hair drier and fluffy towels...lovely little place. We had breakfast which cost extra it was ok...had all the right elements to make it the best breakfast.

Not great for sleep
The instructions to self check in were fine and first impression of the boot room was good with the bed comfortable and the room and bathroom clean and well equipped. However, the green light in the room was so bright it was difficult to sleep. Coupled with the tv in the next room being the opposite side of the wall to the head of the bed and it was still on at 2:30am when we banged on the wall a few times and it was switched off. Terrible nights sleep!

Very disappointed
Only after I had booked was I informed that the "hotel" didn't have its bar or restaurant open on Mon through Wednesday. As it happens my colleague and I stayed on a Tuesday and we were eating out with customers, so other than missing out on a quick drink or two at the bar before and after this wasn't too much of an issue - nearest pub we were told was a mile away.
By far the biggest issue we had was that there is no way of affecting the temperature in the room, other than a radiator thermostat - and as the central heating was either off or set too low neither my colleague or myself could get warm enough at all through the night. It was cold out - the coldest day so far in 2023, but not THAT cold for the time of year (-1C)and it had been widely publicised that it was going to be cold - so why have the central heating off or very low?

My first visit to The Onley, for an impromptu lunch with my son and Mum. Lovely warm welcome by bar staff and beautiful surroundings. The bar/restaurant is tastefully decorated, modern but with gorgeous original features. Good choice of food on the menu, not your average pub grub and a proper treat to have something a bit different. Compliments to the chef Harley, every single thing that came to the table was of the highest quality, not a single negative thing to say about any of it. Will definitely return, highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Don’t no we’re to start me and my husband come away 4 a weekend and we found a local pub will not just any pub!! Nicola the bartender made us feel so comfortable from the minute we walked into and as 4 the chef cali will the food was just amazing could not be happier with our experience thank you so much 100% coming back can’t wait 4 breakfast tomorrow?

Sunday lunch with friends, attractive venue, lovely staff, good price! Would prefer not to have all my veg served up on the plate. It was luke warm, One cauliflower floret with a smattering of cheese! One carrot, soft roast potato's! and a bit greasy,but it did taste nice! Beer overpriced, wine ok!
