If you’re looking to escape the hurly burly of life, then this is the perfect getaway. Set off a remote single-track road, a 15-minute walk from the north-east bank of Loch Lomond, these two holiday cottages have everything you need for that escape. Beautifully furnished, with a big comfy bed, sofa, kitchen area, shower room and satellite TV, your every needs are catered for. Outside there’s a hot tub and sun beds and there’s a summer house equipped with drinks and food which serves as an “honesty” cafe. There’s Wi-Fi but it only works from the summer house, called The Kelly Kettle, after the friendly and helpful owner, Kelly, who can deliver breakfast and slow cooker meals. The cottages are on the site of a historic garrison, the remains of which are adjacent and it’s an ideal spot if you enjoy a good long walk. There are no crowds here - and your main company will be nature. Garrison of Inversnaid is accessible by one route - a 20-mile drive along a narrow, single track road. You can dine at the Bunkhouse, five minutes walk away, which provides excellent Scottish fare. It’s a five minute drive or a marvellous 45-minute walk along a pleasant mountain path to the Pier Cafe at Stronachlachar. We spent two nights here but on leaving decided it’s definitely worth a little longer. Thank you, Kelly.

Just returned from an amazing overnight with my hubby . What a place! Does exactly what it says on the tin! The room was cozy and the bed was so comfy! We had dinner and breakfast. Both were fantastic. Kelly was lovely and welcoming from the moment we arrived. One of the nicest people I have ever met! So relaxing and already planning our next visit ❤️

We booked this very last minute but yet Kelly, the host, pulled out all the stops. The scenery is unreal and location beautiful, the drive up around the back of Loch Lomond /ben Lomond was stunning, albeit a bumpy ride to us city ones - used to the motorway haha - but found it so beautiful. Tip - stick it in the sat nav before losing any signal, as it’s helpful but regardless easy to find or if you are old school and can read a map, even better. We were very happy with our accommodation, Kelly gave an excellent recommendation for dinner and provided us a wonderful breakfast in the morning (even although we were last minute). We both loved her “Kellys kettle” hut idea. Personally we loved the attitude of our host and general idea of honesty. We spent time in the hot tub, with a fire which was brilliant. Just exactly what we wanted. Thank you and I’m sure we will be back.

Outstanding stay. We took the grandkids and will go again with them and also alone. The hosts Paul and Kelly are wonderful. The kids fed Perky the pig, met the Highland cattle and had a ride in Paul's digger. The slow cooked food was beautiful and you will struggle to get a better breakfast. There is wifi in the honesty cabin where you can get hot drinks (amazing cakes) and snacks. Nothing was too much trouble and you have everything you need. We also got phone signal but then again you do not come here for that but its good to know. Beautiful walks from the farm and Aberfoyle is a 20 minute drive wirer you can visit the shops and Nature Visitor centre for Ospreys, Red Squirrels and all manner of other wildlife. We only stayed two nights and wanted to extend the stay if we had not booked to move on. We will be back and you should visit - ten outta ten.

This was one of our favorite stays in our two week trip. Kelly and Paul were SO sweet, they took the time to talk with us and answer any questions we had. We just loved their story and their beautiful farm. The room was great, they truly thought of everything. The breakfast was phenomenal. I wish we would’ve stayed longer it was truly a great, memorable experience.

Our stay at the Garrison was purely by chance and brief. I will be returning for an intentional longer stay in the future !! Whilst walking the WHW myself and a friend stopped at The Inversnaid Hotel for food and a couple of drinks. Drinks not a problem but food was for residents only. Searching the weather for our camping conditions later it was forecast another sub zero night with snow. We then decided to go off trail, up the hill to the Inversnaid Bunkhouse for food (of which was very good) then continued a short distance to the Garrison of Inversnaid. Kelly gave us a very warm welcome, encouraged us to use the hot tub & admire the views to soak away our aches & pains of the hike. Done the trick Beautifully detailed room, garden and facilities set in the most stunning & peaceful location. Didn't get chance to take up mostly what was on offer due to getting back on the WHW but certainly will next visit. My phone signal was non existent but the wifi seemed to work ok. Breakfast was lovely & just what we needed to get us to Crianlarich. p.s It's also a wonderful spot for star gazing and I also saw a glimpse of the aurora borealis for the 1st time

What a beautiful, remote setting! Garrison of inversnaid is a beautifully maintained accommodation with lots of little quirks, we loved it! Kelly was an incredible host, she was friendly, welcoming and seems to enjoy sharing her farm with her guests! She was helpful, going over and above to ensure we had the best time. We didn't order food this time as we had made other plans but most definitely will during our next stay. The area has such beautiful scenery and walks, lots to offer if you are looking for a chilled time with some activity thrown in. It couldn't have been more perfect for us!
