Skamania Lodge is in a beautiful location, but noise was a serious issue during our stay. Our room was next to a suite with a loud party that continued late into the night. Despite calling the front desk multiple times, nothing was resolved. We ended up leaving at 10:30 p.m. and driving home. They did issue a refund, which we appreciate, but the experience was upsetting and disappointing. Tip for future guests: Ask for a room without an adjoining door and not next to a suite or event space. If there’s a wedding on site, be prepared for noise. This is not the place for a quiet, relaxing stay if events are happening.

It was a wonderful stay（granping）, an unprecedented experience, blending in with nature. We also enjoyed a relaxing soak in the deep bath. However, I remember that at night, when we were trying to sleep, there was a train passing nearby, and the sound of it echoing about every hour. This caused our bodies to flinch, making it difficult to fall asleep. That's the only thing I regret.

Overall it feels run down. My room smelled of cigarette smoke. Pillows were some weird synthetic material. Room amenities not replenished and not even a bottle of water in sight. Room service (or their "To-Go" service was impossible to reach going to VM all the time). Buffet food at our offsite was decent but breakfasts weren't great ... the scrambled eggs appeared to be from powdered eggs. No issues with the staff but they didn't seem particularly engaged.

great place to hold an offsite meeting! Beautiful scenery, good conference facilities, the rooms were fine. The outside area, with deck chairs and fire pits and a bit lawn, were a great place to hang out during the evenings. My only complaint was the catered food - it was very heavy and repetitive. Some lighter options would be great!

I made reservations 7 months in advance and was promised 2 adjoining river view rooms for 3 nights. I confirmed by calling 2 weeks before our stay and was again confirmed 2 specific river view rooms on the 4th floor. The day before our departure I received a call from Paula that the rooms are not available. I called and talked to the manager, April and she “graciously” gave us 2 rooms on the 3rd floor connecting, pretending she upgraded us, when in fact we were downgraded. We paid almost $3600 for 2 rooms for 3 nights! No apology, no compensation! Ridiculous for the quality of rooms, which are nothing special (except the view), very basic room for almost $600/a night. Making up your room requires a special request, the bathroom could use updating, a make-up mirror and a working fan. The grounds surrounding the lodge are beautiful, including a lovely mini-golf course, golf course, hot tub and pool. But remember everything is an extra charge, including parking! Too bad the lodge is owned by a large corporation, who does not pride itself on customer service, happy employees and care. Recommendation: Stevenson and Cascade Locks have some very good restaurants with friendly staff for breakfast and dinner.

The lodge has a long history with our family. We have spent many Christmas's there and enjoyed it and the area for many years. After it was sold to Destination Hotels it was remodeled, and at the time I was surprised that they would take away the local flavor of the decor to install a bland and industrial look to this beautiful lodge. In my opinion it is now just an over priced place to lay your head, and does not carry the same ambience and feel that it did prior to the sale. The prices in the dining room don't reflect the quality of the food and drink. I don't mind paying for good food and drink, but honestly, I could have eaten at the Big River Grill down the street and probably would have enjoyed it much more and paid far less.
