Wingate by Wyndham Steubenville

Great room, plenty of space: the only thing I was upset about was the TV; only got a few channels because according to message on screen the signal was weak. It was cable tv.

This felt like a dying hotel. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, but proclaimed at check-in that there was no housekeeping available and ice and vending machines were on the first floor only (of three floors). The pool/gym area windows were all papered over, the room was clean but tired looking and sparse (we debated if the bed had been made up or not and decided the sheets were just wrinkled), the curtains were torn, there was no soap in the bathroom. Breakfast was sufficient to say that breakfast is offered, so while we appreciated the early 6am start time, we skipped. There aren’t a lot of options in this area, so I guess they figure they can charge high prices during conference times for extremely average accommodations. It wasn’t awful but we’d stay elsewhere given the option. Kind of a sad place.

This hotel need attention in every way - from the resident camper in the parking lot with all his goods, to the wet carpet, old smoke smell in the room, torn and stained carpet, to the heater smelling like burnt hair - this hotel needs to be addressed by Wyndham. Not only would I not go back, I left the following morning with no reservation anywhere else, but my car would be better, and perhaps safer. I've never been to a hotel that has to lock the door at midnight - why not hire a security company for your guests if things are that bad?

Filthiest hotel I’ve ever had the misfortune of experiencing. Elevator door slammed onto us while exiting requiring significant force to prevent us from being squished. Children would not have been able to overpower the door. Only positive here is the single staff member seen. She was nice and understanding
