Best Western Garfield House Hotel

A very welcoming hotel. The staff are warm and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The location is ideal to access the airport and city. I hired a car so airport was 20 mins away and city centre much the same. However, I mainly travelled outside of rush hour traffic. My room was roomy, furnished to a high standard, clean and bed was fresh and comfortable. Highly recommend and i will stay here again.

First time here and would return. This was a stopover on our way to Dornoch for an anniversary treat. This hotel is perfectly situated for motorway connexions and ideal for shopping excursions to Glasgow and nearby shoping complexes. A very clean and clear and swift check in and our room located on the ground floor so well suited due to disabilities. Nice to see the entrance caters for wheelchair users and, prams and mobility scooters. Reception very professional but friendly. Room was "Bijou" but suited our needs. One of the things that stopped it being a 5 is there was no handle on the bathroom door . The bathrooom was lovely, however if one of the people had been in for a while ??? the door didnt close properly to avoid aromas. Dining dress code seemed to be mixed which is nice as this allows all guests to feel comfortable when eating. Staff bar and restaurant were very helpful and friendly and again professional. Choosing the wine was fabby as I cant have anthing with a citrus fruit flavour and so was pleased when hubby could taste the Chardonnay to see if it would suit me . It wouldnt so the pictures show the wines we did choose and very tasty and well priced. My Chicken Liver Parfait was one of the best I have had and the waitress was so kind to oblige a few more crackers to help finish it off . Hubby had the Prawns and they perfectly cooked with a lovely light crispy batter. I had the half portion of fish and breaded for a change but it was lovely and cripsy and an ample size and the mushy peas again one of the best examples I have eaten. Hubby had steak pie ( he is not a fan of chips iserved in this fashion but) glad there were just enough chips and not overloaded with them. His veg were a big tired and lacked lustre. All in all Lisa and the rest of the staff who served us were first class. THANK YOU X

The best! Our Sunday roast was amazing & every single member of staff was brilliant! The beef was cooked to perfection, Can’t wait to go back & bring our daughter. Big hotel chain however feels family run,which is rare. Don’t hesitate book we can’t wait to go back!

This is the first hotel that we've been to where people are queuing to get into the restaurant and I'm not surprised, the food is excellent. Add to this great staff and you have a winning combination. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

Excellent hotel. Good value for money. Good breakfast with plenty of choices. Easy to find and I would recommend a stay here. Hotel is within easy reach of Glasgow and the central belt. I would recommend anyone who is visiting Glasgow to consider this hotel as an option. As breakfast is included in the price and not an optional extra as it is is some more pricey Glasgow hotel.

Having very little choice to eat near our hotel we found this restaurant. It was clean and friendly staff, the decoration and toilets clean and impressive. Then we ordered, the food a little over priced for the quality that was severed. I had a burger that needed de construction and a knife and fork to eat. As I said we had little other choice of eateries near buy so we tried on 3 other occasions the food, the last was to try the lasagna which was more sauce than anything else. If you want a slightly over priced meal from good staff be there guest.

Rooms large, well equiped, comfortable and clean but those over the kitchen are hot and noisy Ate in the restaurant on my first night, food nice but small portions so not the best values for money.] I paid my bill to the waitress and on my way out the Manager chased after me shouting "are you going to pay your Bill or put it on your room" in front of all of the other Patrons. No please or "have you paid your Bill" just an accusation of leaving without paying. I told her I'd already paid to which she replied "just checking" No apology at all. Perhaps it's because I was in working clothes. In any event, I didn't eat in their restaurant at all for the rest of the stay and will never return again.

The staff at this hotel went out there way to make my stay excellent ,I will definitely be using this hotel again when I travel back down to glasgow.

We stayed at this hotel on a sunday evening after a long and delayed drive. Most of the party I was staying with had arrived earlier but we were not going to arrive until after 9, while the restaurant kitchen was due to close at 8:30. Kindly, the chef agreed to stay a little longer and made sure we were fed. We ordered two starters and three mains and the food arrived hot and clearly freshly cooked not having sat on a hot plate for an hour as we had pre-ordered. The front of house staff were all friendly and kind. Much appreciated.
