Mont Rochelle

I couldn't recommend this hotel enough! We stayed for one night as an anniversary treat and were thoroughly impressed. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were treated so well. We loved the touches like the wine in the room, complimentary wine tasting at the nearby Country Kitchen, and the complimentary ironing service. It's a bit of a walk up the hill from the town but we took an Uber to the hotel from our previous accommodation, and then used the complimentary shuttle service a couple of times as well.

Where do I start? This was the cherry on the cake for a wonderful trip to SA, we finished up at Mont Rochelle for our last two days, and really wished we had stayed longer! We will definitely return. From the amazing and welcoming staff members to the room, which simply blew us away in terms of space, comfort, special surprises (was not expecting such an extensive minibar or the heated private pool!), we just wanted to soak it all up (so much we were torn whether to go into town...!). On that though, we did venture in, walking up to Reuben's, which was fantastic and close by (got the free shuttle back). Definitely recommend this restaurant. The butter chicken curry and the hake with gnocchi were absolutely delicious. We did find the restaurants at MR to be good but not exceptional - service at the Country Kitchen for lunch was rushed/forgetful (service staff seemed overwhelmed and not as attentive as those in Miko's). However, the food at Miko's was a bit of s strange choice and what we had was quite punchy in terms of seasoning - my son's chicken burger had an incredibly salty rub. Despite these comments, we would return in a heartbeat as we enjoyed all of the hotel facilities - from playing tennis with a stunning mountainous backdrop, opening our curtains to a beautiful vineyard, choosing a complimentary wine to enjoy on the huge sofa, taking a dip in the heated private pool, or laying in the enormous comfy bed to read - it simply did have it all and we had the best finish possible to a wonderful and forever memorable trip. Thank you to all the staff for making it so very special.

We enjoyed the walk and views and it was easy to get to with parking and toilet facilities. A map would have been a good addition as there is little signage on the paths and we did take a couple of wrong turns. Path markers would have really helped every now and then to keep walkers right.

The staff were amazing!!! They were very friendly and helpful and extremely well trained. The rooms are very comfortable and the restaurants serve amazing food. The spa treatments that we received were very well done and can be recommended. All in all, a lovely stay!

I have had the privilege to have stayed at Mont Rochelle on a few occasions - each time has been fantastic and most recently was no exception. Warm greeting from a smiling face with a can't-do-enough mindset. (The best situated tennis court in Franschhoek - panoramic mountain views). My family and I are grateful for the care taken - highly recommended.

This is an ultra luxury hotel and everything is superb. The bathroom floor is heated, so you can imagine the other things. I've made also a wine tasting there and the Miko Syrah 2018 is round and really good. The concierge helps you to program your stay as well. Awesome!
