Family run boutiques hotel. Really enjoyed getting to know Berte (sorry for misspelling of name). We were also very impressed with his manager. We always prefer to support local businesses and this one we felt was exceptionally well run.

This is a lovely small hotel. We felt so at home. The staff is fabulous, especially Temba and of course, Baarty. You can walk out the door and stroll through the streets of Stellenbosch with a myriad of shops and restaurants a few steps away, then retreat to an oasis of calm in the lovely renovated home. I highly recommend this to anyone who is tired of “hotel” that are corporate and cold. And, the mattresses are great, we actually took a picture of the label to see if they are available at home! Also Baarty arranged all our transport and we loved not needing a car!

Timba the Duty Manager earned all 5 stars by himself. He personified hospitality and worked unbelievably hard to make our stay an excellent one . Modern room with excellent facilities. The bath tap running from the ceiling was a new one for us. Breakfasts were good . Walking distance to all Stellenbosch has to offer . Decor in main areas was beautiful if not to our taste . The owner’s newborn baby made an appearance and is definitely a cute asset! Highly recommended

We had a wonderful few days in Stellenbosch and stayed at the Batavia boutique hotel. I could not fault the staff, rooms or location, everything exceeded our expectations and I would stay there again when next I. Stellenbosch. The hotel has a lovely charm about it and is perfectly locales within easy walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. Highly recommended!
