While the hotel is beautiful and the employers are very kind, the service is terrible. At the restaurant the orders took too long, the waiters kept forgetting things so we had to keep reminding them. When we called from the room to reception for laundry and other things they always said they were going to send someone and never did. It’s ok if I had to go and pick it up or leave the laundry but they offered to go and never came. And the thing that I think was the worst is that I schedule a couples massage, the day of the massage my partner was sick so I went to the reception to tell them it was only me, they told me ok that it was no problem. I got charged for the couples massage instead of one because they said they had a cancellation policy of 24 hours that they never told me even when I went to cancel it and it clearly wasn’t true because it says on the paper 5 hours prior!! The person at the reception told me that they couldn’t do anything and I had to pay because there was no proof that I did let them know, basically they told me a liar when they were lying about the cancellation policy. I didn’t get a refund and got treated really bad. Terrible service and terrible communication between the reception and other employees. It’s so sad because is a really beautiful hotel and like I said the employees besides that are really nice. They receive you very kind but it goes down from there, the service was worst with every day passing. They really need to work on that.

Die Begrüssung an der Reception hatten wir uns nach den positiven Bewertungen anders vorgestellt. Wir waren eine Stunde zu früh vor Ort. Die Dame empfahl uns nochmals wegzufahren und uns anderweitig zu verpflegen - die Koffer könnten wir ja dalassen. Es gab also kein Begrüssungsgetränk. Auf der Terrasse des hoteleigenen Restaurants Rafael haben wir daraufhin einen köstlichen Weisswein genossen - so verging die Stunde im Flug. Von da an fühlten wir uns sehr wohl. Die Umgebung ist wunderschön und die Angestellten sehr liebenswürdig. Während unseres Aufenthaltes haben wir auch im Rafael gegessen. Leider waren mehrere Angebote auf der sehr kleinen Karte nicht erhältlich und wir mussten uns umentscheiden. Wir buchten auch eine Weindegustation. Wir probierten und kauften auch mehrere sehr gute Weine. Auf unsere Frage bekamen wir auch etwas Brot gereicht - welches später verrechnet wurde - wie kleinlich ist das? Wir haben 5 Tage dort verbracht. Es hat uns gut gefallen - aber es fehlt das Herzblut.

We made a last minute decision to do coffee,dessert and wine at this amazing estate. Being welcomed by Clinton, what a charismatic person, telling us about the property and having us feel welcomed with family all the way from Australia and taken care of by amazing staff. Caroldine, what an amazing soul (she stole my heart) and Christopher superb waiter. We will definitely be back, specifically for the amazing ambiance and service. We really felt special. the food in the restaurant was very good . The springbok was cooked to perfection. The tuna was exeptional . Big thumbs up. Deserts where of high standard and tasted incredible. Service was friendly and to the point . Also the wine was very good be it on the pricy side . Views are second to none .

Wonderful staff and service. Nice room and lovely location. Great wine tasting and expert knowledge of wines. Excellent food options. The restaurant has a view of a lake and mountains. It’s just outside Stellenbosch and well served by Ubers.
