All very well renovated but kept the charme of the old times , great bed great shower , great breakfast and very nice park and surrounding !! Staff very helpfull and friendly

We unfortunately had several issues while staying. These include: 1. We had to request extra towels as only one was left in the room (booking was for 2 people) - this took almost an hour 2. The bath plug did not work, and was only replaced the day after our arrival (when we informed the staff, we were told the manager was off-site and not answering the phone) 3. The taps in the bathroom and kitchen were loose, so the tap has to be held in place when turning the water on/off 4. Half of the lights in the bedroom area did not work and were hanging/drooping down in some areas 5. The milk provided was sour on two separate days 6. There are no blinds or curtains on the door or windows, so there is no privacy. Anyone could walk up the stairs and look into the room at any time (not exactly ideal for a couple's getaway) 7. The bathtub leaked significantly from underneath the bath itself - we had to use several towels as the water even leaks into the bedroom 8. The floors are very slippery, especially with the carpets that are in place - we both slipped a few times 9. The air conditioner leaked water and ice - this was however fixed when we informed the staff 10. There are no extension cords, so if you do not bring your own, you will be charging your phone on the floor 11. Extremely noisy from very early in the morning - staff spoke loudly while walking in before 6am. There was also construction taking place so this resulted in plenty of noise all day. There is a church service on Sundays, where there is singing as well. 12. While the restaurant staff were generally very friendly and helpful, the churchgoers seemed to get preferential treatment on the Sunday.

Beautiful old Cape Dutch buildings, period furniture, lovely garden, good food at breakfast and great staff. Felt safe and quiet in the night.
