Harmony Rethymno Beach Hotel

We were sold on the quiet, tranquil, and calm settings offered and repeating on website and Facebook page as we had our son with us who was still in recovery from health issues. However it was a PARTY resort with nice rooms. Was clean and food was good but you could not sit around pool or beach or balcony without booming dance music from 10 am till passed 11pm. This might be what some holiday makers want but was not reflected in advertising. I felt mislead !! Was needing tranquil calm setting but never got! So disappointing. Waste of money and time.

I’m currently on my second vacation here at Harmony Beach Hotel and honestly, it’s just as wonderful as the first time. ❤️ From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed straight away. The staff are so warm and friendly — they really take the time to make you feel at home, and that hasn’t changed at all since my first stay. This time, I was given a room with a private pool, which has been amazing. The room is spacious, very clean, and comfortable, and having the pool just for myself makes it feel extra special. It’s the perfect spot to relax after a day out in Stavromenos or wandering around Rethymno. What I love most is how consistent everything is — both times I’ve stayed here, the service, the kindness, and the attention to detail have been excellent. It’s rare to find a place where you feel so well taken care of every single time. The location is also great — quiet and peaceful, but still close enough to the town and the sea. For me, it’s the ideal balance between exploring and relaxing. I’m really happy I came back, and I’m already thinking about the next visit. A big thank you to the whole team for making my second stay just as memorable as the first! This hotel feels like a home 🫶✨💫

We arrived at the hotel at 2am. The employee at the reception was very rude and yelled at us because our voucher didn’t inform the hotel of our arrival. So the checkin procedure was not very smooth. Rooms was clean and nice, food at the buffet was ok nothing spectacular. Service at the bar was great. The big minus was that nobody respected the sunbed policy that said that reservation of sunbeds is not accepted, leading to many people including us did not get to use a sunbed some days. The hotel says they will remove towels if they see somebody reserving, but this was not the case on any of the seven days we stayed. Checkout procedure was smooth. But when we called the reception about a forgotten backpack a few hours after we left for the airport they where again very unhelpful, we forgot it in the playroom 50 meters from the reception but it was way too difficult to go from the reception and check if it was still there. So overall our encounters with the reception and the sunbed policy is why the rating isn’t higher.

Not the best of starts when we were placed in a room only accessible by two steps even though the hotel were told that my 81 year old mother uses a walking frame to get about. After asking to move we were told nothing could be done until the next day when they offered us a move to a different room on the level. One problem solved but the second room had a double bed instead of 2 singles. The only solution they came up with was to move for a third time or just make the double up as two singles - still a double bed but two separate sheets. So we stayed in the 2nd room. Strangest all inclusive I have ever had in 40 years of travelling. You only get access to part of the drinks menu during the day and the rest of the drinks are only available after 6pm. Never seen this anywhere else and it begs the question why??? No snack bar so no burgers or any other type of snack during the day unless you went into the main restaurant, which of course is only open at set times. Zero entertainment except on a Monday night - a DJ - no animation team so the only entertainment otherwise is a Greek dancing display on a Thursday, which we missed because we were flying back. Oddly there is no luggage room to put your cases so you either keep them with you or take a chance and leave them in the open in reception. On the upside there room safe was free, the pool was nice and warm which was great in the high temperatures. If you just want a very quiet break this might suit you but the odd policy regarding the drinks and no snacks during the day unless you go into the restaurant would put us off going back.

I was little bit sceptical about hotel because location is quite far (about 11 km from Rethymnon) and I red a reviews before. Our opinion is hotel is great to stay at one week just for relax. It was so clean and food was really tasty and fresh. Service was excellent anywhere ypou go. Hotel is located by the sea so you can choose to swim in sea or pool but you need shoes in the sea because it´s rocky. We paid extra for a seaview and it was worth it. Only negative I can say was the drinking water taste really bad and they didin´t clean the pool area so it was little bit dirty (sunbeds and the floor). Otherwise hotel was perfect!

The hotel is wonderful — not big, but cozy and comfortable. If someone is looking for evening entertainment, there isn’t much of it here. The food is tasty and varied, in line with the hotel’s concept. Alcoholic drinks are also decent — cocktails, beer, wine. All the staff are very friendly, smiling, and always happy to help. We arrived at 2 a.m., and a snack was waiting for us, which was a pleasant surprise. The beach is pebbly — water shoes are recommended. I recommend this place.
