Easy check-in and check-out. The room and bathroom was clean. I would stay here again.

Well, where do I start. Checked in and got our room assignment. Walked in to check everything out. First thing I noticed was no TV remote. When I called to ask the front desk for another remote the young man said “Are you the room who called about a bad smell and food left in a refrigerator?” This should have been my first clue. I responded no that I needed a remote for the TV. His response was “I have been looking for those and have not found any yet but if I find one I will bring it to you. Second, the room was an ADA room and had the bars in the shower, however the step from the main room into the bathroom had a gap that if you were NOT aware of or did not notice you will trip. The pool was green and unusable. Noticed a piece of gum or candy the size of a nickel pressed into the picture on the wall. We were so tired that we didn’t not notice the picture or we would have demanded a new room. I am very very shocked at the room and facility overall. Will not recommend this hotel.

Hotel definitely could use attention on furnishings (rusty lamp) and maintenance (wood glue on many broken pieces of furniture, plaster not sanded and painted, just roughly patched in places, stains on carpet). Wi-Fi did not reach every room and went in and out. But I came on to leave a review because I was very impressed with the friendliness of the staff. Desk clerks asked each time we went in and out if there was anything we needed (and quickly got us what we needed), breakfast staff was attentive and friendly, and the cleaning people asked if we needed anything when we walked down the hall as well. If we do stay here again, it would only be because of the staff, not the hotel itself.

The hotel is filthy. Our room has so much dust on the couch that we had to put a sheet over it so we could sit down. There was caked dust and hair under the bed. There was no soap in bathroom. I was told by the front desk to come down and get some. He handed me one small bar in a plastic envelope. Later in the day, the head of cleaning came by and told us we needed a full cleaning. We were not able to allow the crew in to clean it fully, but would accept the standard room cleaning the next day. When we came back to the room the next evening, we found nothing was done -- no bed made, no towels, no vacuuming. We called and visited the front desk multiple times. The young men at the desk were not competent, and no manager was able to be found during our 2-day stay. When we checked out, we were charged the two nights as expected, but there was an additional $303 charge with no explanation. They said they were crediting it back to our card. After we got home, we found that the credit was not applied! We called the hotel many times and could not get a manager on the phone. The front desk kids put us on hold, hung up, or said the manager was not on duty over the weekend. We had to call our Credit Card company to dispute the charge. The Credit Card company blocked our account and are investigating the matter as fraud. We called Marriott Hotels to open a case. Hopefully they will investigate. I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone stay at this hotel for any reason. If all other hotels are booked, it would be best to stay near Savannah and drive. PS: our niece also stayed at the hotel and there was urine embedded in the sheets. They did get a room change and were supposed to get a refund for one night. She never got that refund and has to contact her Credit Card company to report.

The staff was kind, and everyone greeted me with a smile. The room was great. Thank you!
