In your downtime, curl up in front of the fireplace with a book or stream a show on the Smart TV.The spaceThe entire house was recently renovated and newly furnished to provide all of the modern comforts of home here in the country, including high speed wifi internet (500mb).The kitchen is fitted out with stainless steel appliances, (full sized refrigerator, gas range, dishwasher and microwave) granite countertops and stocked with everything you need to prepare and serve a fabulous (or simple!) meal for your group. There is a small breakfast nook with seating for 4 along with a large dining table with seating for 8. The back deck features a gas grill and a covered outdoor dining area with a large dining table and seating for 8 as well.The four bedrooms are on the second floor, Bedroom 1 and 2 both feature king sized beds. Bedroom 3 has two twin sized beds, and Bedroom 4 has a twin sized bunk bed, along with a connecting door to Bedroom 1. Every bedroom is fully furnished for a comfortable stay with area rugs, dressers, bedside tables and lamps. There is an ample supply of luxurious bedding from Brooklinen with plenty of extra sheets, pillows and towels. The family room on the ground floor has a queen sized sleeper sofa for extra guests.The living room has plenty of space to hang out in front of the new gas fireplace. Seating includes a plush, deep ‘L’ shaped sofa along with plenty of lounge chairs, tables and lamps. For those needing to binge watch, the family room has a new 55” LG Smart TV ready to stream any of your favorite apps.The house is centrally located within the Catskills, in Shandaken, NY. Whether you are looking for adventure or relaxation, there are plenty of options in close proximity. Belleayre, Hunter, Windham and Plattekill offer skiing and snowboarding, with local outfitters offering cross-country and snowshoeing. The Esopus Creek is just a stone’s throw away and offers world class trout fishing, swimming and tubing. The area is surrounded by endless hiking opportunities in all directions with trails ranging from easy to very challenging. Our house is located in the heart of the Catskills Mountains. A short 5 minute drive to Phoenicia and local shops and restaurants. Top fly fishing / hiking nearby, a short drive to skiing at Belleayre / Hunter Mountain, and 20 minutes from Woodstock. Perfect spot to unwind and connect with nature!The First Floor:- Living Room area with 55" SmartTV - Fully renovated kitchen with stainless steel Gas Stove, Microwave, Dishwasher, and Refrigerator - All essential dish and cookware are provided, including coffee machine with coffee and sugar- Dining room with large table that comfortably seats 6 people - Huge bathroom with washer / dryer (laundry pods provided)- One bedroom (the smallest), with a double bed and built-in desk with a monitor for a perfect work-from-home space- Two AC units are included on this floor in the summer The Second Floor:- Two additional bedrooms upstairs (both with AC units in summer) - The largest bedroom is the blue room, equipped with a queen bed, dresser, mirror, and rocking chair. The room also includes a desk nook with a computer monitor that is another great working space!- The green room has a queen bed, dresser, and mirror Outside:- Front porch includes 6 wooden Adirondack chairs that are the perfect location to start your morning! - Backyard includes brand new hot tub, gas grill (propane included), and fire pit area with rustic tree trunk seats (firewood included)- Driveway with parking for up to 4 vehiclesYou will have the entire property to yourself. Self check-in instructions will be provided. Our cleaning staff are on a tight time schedule, as they need the allotted time to deep clean and sanitize for the next guest. Flatrock House is located in the heart of The Catskill Mountains. Originally built in the 1950's, our 3200 square ft house was once a bar, disco & casino. Spend your time relaxing in our one-of-a-kind, curated home on 8.5 acres of forever green forest. Whether you're playing, fishing in the Esopus creek, exploring the forest, picnicking in the yard or just relaxing in front of the wood-burning-stove, you'll feel like you've truly gotten away!The spaceOur property runs along the Esopus Creek with its own private beach access which guests often use to fish, swim or just hang out on. With over six acres of forest, others choose to explore the woods or go sledding in the winter. We also have a large dining space, fire pit, gas grill, basketball hoop (which is a tad rustic), picnic table, a terrace with a view & more.Inside the house you will find a wood burning stove, 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, Jacuzzi tub, work-from-home 1 GIG Wi-Fi speed & a huge game room with a ping pong table, TV, DVD player and Roku as well as a whole bunch of board games, puzzles and a ton of books (for adults and kids) to read by the fire.Other things to noteRegarding check-in and check-out: If there isn't a guest checking out in the morning, we allow guests to check-in as early as 9AM. If the prior guest is leaving in the morning, check-in isn't available for a new guest until 4PM so that our cleaner has time to do all of the necessary cleaning for Covid. Tons of hiking & wildlife..On septic tank & well water- rules for use. Low door height & wonky stair treads. Old house charm!The spaceOur cottage is cozy, best for a couple, a small family or a few close friends. The living room w/fireplace, window bench, dining table, kitchen and washer/dryer are all on the first floor. Up our narrow staircase (watch your step!) you will first find our newly renovated bathroom. To the right, there is a large bedroom with a queen bed, writing desk, seating area dresser and closet. On the left, is a small bedroom that just fits a full size bed and dresser. Outside, we have a covered space with seating, a charcoal grill, and a fire pit.Other things to noteThere are a lot of black bears in the area. It’s really important that no food or garbage is left outside, including in cars. Trash should only go in our bear proof trash bin, securely closed.
