The Hummingbird House is a cozy studio cottage on our beautiful 7 acres property a short drive from historic downtown Grass Valley. There are two other houses on the property (one we live in, one with a long-term renter). We’ve got cell service and WiFi.The cottage offers a plush king bed and a desk area if you need to work remote (while gazing longingly out the window at the trees, mountains and birds of course). Full bathroom with shower and tub, a kitchen with stove, microwave, oven, toaster, coffee maker - all the utensils and cookware you need. We provide freshly ground coffee and a few tea options.Additional sleeping options are the convertible couch in the living room area, which folds down into a full size bed (mattress topper offered for extra comfort) and/or we can provide an air bed.The cottage has a wrap-around deck with dining table and chairs and a futon that can fold down into a bed for optimum stargazing and napping. There is also a private patio and porch swing, in case everyone needs their own little outdoor nook.Guests are encouraged to explore the property! Sit by the pond, try out our makeshift disc golf course (i.e. trees for targets!), utilize the shared outdoor kitchen equipped with sink and bbq, walk the land, play cornhole, watch what we like to call "Hummingbird TV".... And we highly recommend exploring the garden to see what's in season, make yourself a bouquet, or pick some plums, pears, apples, etc! With over 90+ different flowers, trees, herbs etc growing on the property there is lots to explore. We can also provide binoculars and a bird guide for the bird enthusiasts!Dogs are welcome, but please note there are other dogs that live on the property that might come say hello! They are friendly, but you can let us know if it's an issue. Gorgeous, bright and spacious main living area with furnished big back porch. Fully equipped kitchen with French door into the front yard with seating areas and blossoming flowers. Beautiful spacious master bedroom with king size bed and temperpedic mattress is on ground level. Next to it is full bath with shower. Upstairs we have two beautiful queen size bedrooms with temperpedic mattresses and one full bath with shower and bath tub. Plenty of closet space. Extra bedding. We take pride of high quality luxury sheets and hotel quality pillows. Soft and firm available. The entire house is very bright with plenty of sunshine. Live plants. She walks down the driveway to the other side of the house to his unit. She does not have any access to the main house. We have a great relationship with her. Located just 2.5hrs from San Francisco and the Bay Area, the historic town of Nevada City (and nearby Grass Valley) delights visitors with access to the Tahoe Lake area (50min to Truckee), the Yuba River (10min), historic landmarks, great local shopping, hiking and biking trails. The 'Round House' is fairly known by many locals as it was a formal gathering space, as a custom-built property sitting on 21 acres with views of the Sierras. The main home has three round skylighted domes, two wings (3-beds, 2-baths on the west, and 1-bed, 1-bath plus yoga meditation room on the east), and the main 'Great Room' has 19ft-ceilings with a custom-built kitchen, fireplace and attached screen-in porch room that is perfect for family or friend gatherings. Guests will love having a cup of coffee or a glass of wine in the screened-in porch, or taking a quick respite or workout in the yoga/meditation room. Cozy up by the wood-burning fireplace in the winter, or the hot tub on chilly nights. The pool is salt-water and solar heated, great in most seasons but on the cold days. This property is great for low-key family gatherings, and has a fully stocked kitchen (blender, waffle maker, coffee maker, utensils, pots/pans and two dishwashers). You need to bring paper towels, ground coffee and your own tupperware. This is NOT a party house. We belong to an HOA that has strict noise ordinances after 10pm. We also have an on-site manager.
