The Gator Getaway is the perfect escape from reality located in the swampy town of Manchac, Louisiana. It is the ideal place for a stay near the water with no boat required! The historic building was the original Church of Manchac and was remodeled into a home. Located within walking distance to the famous Middendorf's Restaurant! Also nearby is the public boat launch, Sun Buns river bar boat taxi, and other local favorite spots! Located about 40 miles outside of New Orleans. The house is a cozy one bedroom, one bathroom home with a pull out couch (with a mattress topper) in the living room. The outdoor patio area is the perfect place to relax, enjoy the company of friends and family, or even appreciate some alone time while listening to the sounds of the swamp.There is plenty of room for parking vehicles and boats in front of the house and even along the street. The Gator Getaway is road accessible only but with plenty of space to park a boat and trailer. The public boat launch is only one minute away!All guests will be provided with bug spray and other repellents to help with Louisiana mosquitos while enjoying the outdoors. However, guests should be aware that this is located in the swamp and outdoor insects are only controllable to an extent. " Isle of View" is a spectacular 3 bedroom, two and a half bath, custom-built home on 7 private, wooded acres in Folsom Louisiana, with gorgeous sweeping views of the Little Tchefuncte river. This home is absolutely perfect for either a short get-away from the hustle and bustle of city life, or for an extended period of total relaxation and seclusion. With the enormous windows, and wide wrap- around decks, you will feel literally feel like you are living in a tree house, yet you will have all of the creature comforts you could ask for. If you are looking for the perfect place to unwind, then this is it.Amenities include:>An enormous great room with huge vaulted ceilings, rustic French antique walnut table from the early 1800's that seats 6 with a huge Elk antler chandelier above it. There is room for two more people at the kitchen bar. There is a very large comfortable sectional sofa that two people can sleep on, as well as a smaller leather sofa and two chairs. If two people sleep on the sectional sofa, then the house will sleep 8. For entertainment, there is a 60" Flat screen television in the great room, with the capability to stream movies, as well as a DVD player. We do not have cable because it is not available. The decor is the perfect mix between modern and rustic, with many interesting and fun pieces of art to enjoy. >Bedroom with bunk beds, games, and toys for kids. The bunk bed is two twin Serta, mattresses, so smaller adults can sleep on them if need be. This bedroom also has a television/DVD combo.> Horse-theamed Bedroom with very comfortable queen bed, dresser, and large closet. >Very clean bathroom with tub/shower >Extremely large primary bedroom with large, very comfortable King size bed, flat screen Television with DVD player. The shower in the primary bathroom is massive, however and we do offer a tub in the second bathroom. The doors to the unit remain locked, so we ask that guests do not try to use the staircase to get to the third floor or to go up to the third floor with the elevator. Please do NOT allow children to go up to the third floor. The balcony up there is 40 feet up in the air, and if a child were to fall from there it would certainly result in tragedy. Cozy cottage featured on Louisiana Flip N Move on DIY Network. This house was moved via truck and barge across lake Pontchartrain from Bonnabel Blvd all the way to it's new home in Robert, LA. The Bonnabel Haus is a very simple space which tried to pay homage to time when things were a little simpler as well. There are features throughout the house that were hand picked over years to try to constantly improve the feel of the interior. One of my favorite pieces is the foyer light which was bought at an estate sale in St. Francisville. It came from a old service station in Zachary that was torn down. I bought this light and completely refitted it to serve as my new Foyer light.It bodes high speed internet, off street parking, a large fenced backyard and best of all a little stock tank pool to take a dip in and cool off on hot Louisiana summer days. (stock tank pool available from May to September and drained from October to April).The Bonnabel Haus is only 10 min from downtown Hammond, 15 min to Covington and Madisonville, and 50 min to the New Orleans Airport.The pet fee is a $75/pet fee.
