Black Horse Beamish

Our 2.5-hour journey ended with "Wow" look at this place, not what we expected at all. First impressions, wonderful, booking in before time was not a problem at all, showed to the room whereupon, this gets better, it looks as if they just created it just for us, beautifully fitted out in furnishings that appear to have been crafted locally with care. A four-poster bed, large screen LG T.V. A bathroom being part of the bedroom which does not detract from the whole ambience on jot separated by curtain. The combination of fittings within the bathroom, again chosen for their aesthetics and not their cost, a stone wash basin mounted on more wood certainly adds a magnificence one doesn't expect. We spent 2 nights here where the staff created a lovely room to come back to from the local Beamish museum, two towel swans created on the bed with rose petals and a birthday wishes card for my partner. they even went "well above and beyond" when the arrived and asked if she would like a spin in an Aston Martin for her birthday as they knew Chemo wasn't her best friend. The restaurant fitted us in without reservation for Sunday lunch, which, contrary to what some diners had mentioned on this review site, was "typical pub fayre" was not the case. Food cooked and presented as it should be. A huge thank you to all the staff for their injection of enthusiasm into our stay, what pity other establishments don't go the extra few miles as they have. We will definitely return here.

5 star!!! It was a fantastic stay, the room was amazing. The staff were attentive, the grounds were lovely and the food was great. I would definitely recommend staying here and I'll definitely come back.
