The hotel is in a very good location, right in the center of town, close to the church and High Street, it is very convenient to go there. The room is spacious and clean, and the hotel front desk is very welcoming!

Booked my 50th Birthday Party at the Crown Hotel and 12 of us enjoyed a private dining room. I honestly couldn't have wished for anything better. The service by our waiter Nick was exemplary, nothing was too much trouble and he was very attentive. The best fillet steak I have ever had with all food sourced locally, all 12 of us loved it and would definitely recommend and return. The owner came to meet us which was lovely too. A relaxed and friendly environment created by a wonderful team. Accommodation is also perfect! Thank you

We booked on Sunday @ 7.30pm for my birthday dinner expecting to have the a la cart dinner menu. They only were serving the Sunday lunch menu ( not what was advertised on the website). It should be made clear that on Sundays they only serve Sunday lunch menu. Very very disappointing main courses. We ordered 2 lamb Sunday lunch. Where both cold. Both meat and veg. The lamb was definitely beef. We sent them back to reheat. Came back so over cooked was impossible to eat. Eventually the waiter checked with the chef and agreed that the meat taste like beef not lamb and the quality was not to their standards. They only charged us for the starters, one main dish and drinks. They didn’t even acknowledged my birthday. Very very disappointing and spoilt my birthday dinner.

The hotel is centrally located, with lovely church views. We stayed for a night in the Hayloft. Room was clean, bottles of water etc are a nice touch. Ceilings are very low, being a loft. There is just a bath, no shower, no full length mirror, and nowhere to really put your stuff in the bathroom so had to leave toiletries on the floor. Breakfast was lovely, nice restaurant and polite staff. The small car park was full so we had to park in a pay and display down the road. Not too far but a bit inconvenient at 11pm in the cold when you are carrying several bags. For the price it would be nice to park on site. All in all a nice clean hotel, and a lovely historic building, just a few minor niggles but a nice comfortable stay.

We had a Sunday lunch at the Crown and were all thoroughly impressed. Service was excellent, food was excellent and ambience was laid back, bustling but not noisy. Cannot recommend enough. We are local to Stamford and will definitely be returning.

We had a wonderful stay here with friends and we all enjoyed the lovely rooms and food . All the staff were so professional and helpful. Breakfast was amazing and look forward to revisiting. Such a great location as we went to Burghley house and then walked around Stamford .

Great hotel in the centre of Stamford - we had the lovely Garden Room which is a large double with very very nice bathroom Excellent location with private parking. Good idea to arrive early as spaces are limited The restaurant bar area is traditional and full of character. Dining is not cheap, the cooking is good enough but not top notch - but the service is friendly Best part for us was the wonderful, warm, smiling welcome from Hannah at reception who guided us by phone into Stamford, then into the car park, where she met us on what was a dark, cold, wet, autumnal evening. True customer service - above and beyond an6 call of duty. Thanks so much

I'd low/no expectations of this hotel or town - all new to us, but we visited with a group of old friends. Comfortable/clean spacious room, great breakfast and dinners. Lovely/helpful/friendly staff. Good parking for guests. Quirky, fun, a good buzz about it and bedecked with beautiful plants. Stamford's a fine town, historic, seemingly not overwhelmed by tourists. Prosperous range of shops. Several other good restaurants nearby if you seek variety. I could easily be tempted back.

Staff were great and very helpful. Breakfast was amazing. The only very minor problem were the stairs down to rhe room. We were in the townhouse which is a very short walk from the main building. Other than that everything was spot on. Lovely town.
