Great hotel. So nice to be so close to the ocean. Also, breakfast is very good.

The food was superb !!!

We have been to this hotel many times and you do consider, now and again, will the standards drop. Well ‘NO’ , is the answer to that one. From the greeting you receive on arrival, to the farewell on your departure, I doubt you will want for anything. There are several types of accommodation, from the ultimate luxurious with private pool, to the beautiful inland view rooms. All are spotless, have WiFi are comfortable and products are replenished every day. They have TV and coffee machines, together with fabulous air con and secure safes. We always go for a pool and sea view room, which are lovely in design and offer a great vista . We like our food and this is the only hotel we request half board. This is really a fine dining menu served at your table. Although we have eaten out many times in Crete, we have not found better food anywhere. The breakfast is buffet style with something for everyone. All credit to Head Chef George. The views from the infinity pool are stunning. We also used the ultra modern spa several times. The range of service is incredible with affordable prices and discounts for hotel guests. The staff: wow, the vast majority remain the same, which is a great sign for a hotel. From reception to bar, from cleaning to spa from restaurant to shop, they will all go out of their way to please and make sure you have an amazing holiday. If you are a wine buff, then the Maitre de Manolis is your guy. What a choice of wines he can suggest. There are many members of staff to thank and we can’t thank them all, but the faces front of house that will give you lasting memories are Anastasia, Tula, Manolis, Kristina, Manny, Alex and the owner Petros. They will make you stay perfect, with the help of all the names and back room staff we have missed. Enjoy this hotel and remember, don’t walk all the way to the supermarket in the heat for water and snacks, as they are actually cheaper in the hotel shop, where they have everything you need. From the moment we set foot in the hotel we could not have felt more welcome or more relaxed. Our flight arrived late and we were very grateful for the wrap and salad provided by the hotel on our arrival. The room that we booked was not available for our first two nights but this had been resolved in advance of us arriving and we spent two nights in a suite overlooking the pool which was fabulous. Our actual room once we left the suite was a sea view (which we had booked) and was the very last room in the block. Although it was quite a trek up and down the stairs in the heat it did mean that it was very quiet and we didn't hear the other guests coming and going. The hotel and the rooms are very clean and it is clear the pride that the manager & the staff take in running the hotel. There was a good choice for breakfast each day - I am very fussy but have never eaten so much at breakfast as I did here. Everything was kept topped up and clean. To sit and eat it on the terrace overlooking the pool and the sea view was just stunning. The pool area has plenty of sunbeds and we did not have any issues in finding a couple until our last two or three days where the hotel was much busier and more people seemed to be reserving without spending most of the day there. We were B&B but ate in the hotel a few nights as the food was so nice and the price was reasonable. There are also restaurants and bars a few minutes walk away if you wanted a change of scenery. The hotel location is in a reasonably quiet location, it is on a busy road but you couldn't really hear the traffic. The bus to Chania stops just by the supermarket which is around 100 yards away from the hotel but if you want to get a taxi then the hotel can arrange this for you. I did need to see a doctor while we were on holiday for a badly infected bite/sting and the reception staff could not have been more helpful in finding somewhere open on a Sunday and arranging the taxi to take us. On our departure day there was a wedding reception being held at the hotel in the evening which meant that the food for our dinner took a little longer than usual. No big deal but it is worth being aware of if you have to be somewhere by a certain time. We did a couple of excursions - we took the land train (which you can book just by the supermarket down the road from the hotel) and did a tour that took in a German WWII cemetery and the Cretan Brewery which we really enjoyed. We also booked a boat trip through our rep which was lovely and relaxing and took us around Theodorou Island. We also visited the beaches at Platanias & Agia Marina which were nice with plenty of sunbeds. I wish I could remember everybody's names but I can't so will just say a big thank you to all of the staff at the hotel for making our stay so relaxing and enjoyable. All in all we had a fantastic holiday and we cannot wait to return next year.
