The interior and decoration are very old school, and the handsome guy at the front desk is so handsome in a suit and tie. The souvenir shop in the lobby is very distinctive, and the hotel has its own museum. It is not very far from voss and bergen, so it is very suitable for staying on the road by car.

Best part of our trip so far. We stopped off for one night on our Norway in a nutshell tour on the way to Gudvagen - I would highly recommend this. We would have been happy to stay here the entire trip. We found the hotel to be delightfully old fashioned and charming. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. The view is truly spectacular and we were lucky enough to have it from our room as well (323). We had the buffet dinner in the evening which we loved. Excellent quality food and good variety. Really good value for money. Don’t stay if you are wanting a generic, modern, formulaic hotel.

Very out of date hotel although very clean. Rooms very basic and although there were instructions on how to use the phone there was only a bare wire. Menu in the restaurant was extremely limited or you could choose the buffet-expensive for what it was. The dining room was bedlam, due to poorly behaved coach parties. We had to eat in another room despite having a table booked, it lacked atmosphere and having to carry your food through from the dining room was not ideal.
