Augill Castle

We’ve just returned from an amazing weekend stay at Augill Castle, and we can’t recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Wendy, who made us feel at home. Augill castle is quirky, relaxing, and peaceful. It felt “home from home” for us, where we could unwind and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. The food was outstanding – simple, delicious, and made with care. Every meal we had was good quality, home-cooked and excellent value for money. Thank you for making our stay so perfect - exactly what we needed!

We had an afternoon tea for 3 at 2:00pm today, Wednesday 16 July 2025. It was excellent food with a variety of cakes, sandwich and savoury and scones. With as much tea or coffee as required. The area we dined in was very clean and comfortable and the owner and staff were very helpful and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this hidden gem ☝️

To put it simply, our wedding day could not have been more perfect. We had been to Augill for afternoon tea on multiple occasions and the first time we visited we both said ‘Wouldn’t it be amazing to get married here’, and it was exactly that! From the moment we knew we wanted to get married at Augill Castle we felt like this was the only wedding in the world that mattered, and that is purely down to Wendy and the whole team. Every aspect of the day was tailored exactly how we wanted, and Wendy’s attention to detail, and genuine care made the whole experience seamless and stress-free. The castle is beautiful and a great place for a peaceful retreat. The rooms were stunning, with every room having it’s own quirks and character, and we loved being able to allocate each individual room to our loved ones. The wedding food was delicious with each course again being tailored to our preferences, and was presented beautifully – every guest was full by the end of the meal! The value for money is outstanding, especially considering the high level of service, the stunning venue, and the sheer effort put in by every single member of staff. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure our day was everything we hoped for and more. Since our wedding, multiple guests have told us this was the best wedding they had ever attended, which we think speaks for itself. We are so grateful to everyone at Augill and we’re already planning our next trip back!

A wonderful castle stay! Augill Castle is a very special place - we celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary there and it was perfect!. The ambience, the staff, all the quirky artifacts in the castle, it was like staying in someones home. I would highly recommend staying here, you will not be disappointed and we hope to return! Thank you Augill Castle it was magical!

Attended a wedding this weekend - the castle was stunning in the sunshine and a wonderful backdrop to a beautiful wedding. The staff at the wedding were attentive, friendly snd unobtrusive. The food was fantastic and it’s the perfect spot for a smaller wedding with a relaxed feel where everyone could feel comfortable and looked after. Was a very special day. ❤️

Such a beautiful day had by all at my son’s wedding at Augill Castle yesterday. Wonderful food, calm, helpful and friendly staff. Lovely intimate and comfortable room for the ceremony. It was a perfect day that we will all remember. A fantastic location for a wedding. Thank you to everyone at Augill for making it so special.
