We stayed in Room 6. The room is described a luxurious, and whilst it was OK, it wasn't what we would think of as luxurious. There is a modern four poster bed, but the mattress wasn't particularly comfortable. There was no hair drier or fridge, but there was an ironing board and iron. The carpet appeared to be fairly new, and there was a small table with two chairs,. The shower room was very nice and looked new, although the shower itself was quite snug and there was no shelf for personal items. Shower gel and shampoo were provided, and the towels were large and fluffy. The room had secondary double glazing, which was needed due to road noise, but the windows needed a good clean inside and out. There was a dehumidifier half full of water on the windowsill - in July! Unfortunately, the guests in the room opposite returned at 1.30 am and proceeded to have a loud conversation outside our door and then in the room until 2am, until we asked them to be quiet for the second time, at which one shouted Goodnight and went to their own room. Not what we needed before a long journey! The staff were lovely, and we had a good breakfast in the morning. Other food we had in the pub was also very good. On the whole, we felt that the room was a little overpriced.

Visited with 17 of us for a 60th Birthday and the same as previous visits it was absolutely spot on. Sunday dinner and the menu choices were excellent. Fast friendly service, has to be one of the best Sunday meals in Staffordshire. Would highly recommend to anyone

Nothing to shout about! Family special meal menu states tipple cooked chips... never ever are these tipple cooked poor to say the least, remaining food i.e. lasagne was very very dry, would it make a return visit? Definitely no, service was standard i.e.staff not remembing requests.

Called on the way to a meeting in Stafford, greeting and service was good, as we were on a tight time scale we went for the house burger the food arrived quickly and was to a excellent standard, the burger was hand made ground beef what justified the cost. Well worth a visit and we will be back next time we are in the area

Excellent overnight stay, great location, we were greeted with friendly staff who were very attentive, our dinner was lovely and very reasonable. Very impressed with our room, it was immaculate. When we came down for breakfast, they had a log burner roaring, it made it feel like a homely environment, again, the breakfast was delicious!
