Damare Resort & Spa

I stayed at Damare Resort and Spa in April 2025, and it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, the issues piled up, and it was clear that this hotel has serious problems that need addressing. First, there was loud construction noise throughout our entire stay. I’m pregnant and needed some quiet time to rest in the afternoons, but that was impossible with constant drilling and hammering. When we checked in, we were only told they were working on the pool area. However, on our first afternoon, after having a very early flight, I tried to sleep with earplugs, only to be suddenly woken up by loud drilling just hours after checking in. We immediately asked for a full refund so we could leave and find somewhere else to stay, but they refused and instead offered us a room change the next day, which was unacceptable. To make matters worse, we couldn't speak to any managers because they were supposedly never available. I ended up speaking to a supervisor on the phone, who didn’t care at all and simply insisted we had to wait until the next day to move rooms. No compensation was offered, and when they finally suggested a room change, it was just two floors down where we would still hear the noise, plus the new room was much smaller than the one we had. Reception also told us the construction noise would be done that day, so we didn’t need to move, but the noise continued the entire stay! I even overheard another couple complaining about the same issue, so it wasn’t just us. Additionally, we weren’t made aware that the outdoor pool would be closed during our stay. While this was mentioned on the website, there was no indication that there would be nowhere to sit or sunbathe outside while the work was going on. This left us with no outdoor space to relax, which was extremely disappointing. On a positive note, the indoor pool was lovely, and we were looking forward to using it. However, the experience was completely ruined by the unbearable smell of urine in the shower area. It was so overwhelming that it completely destroyed any chance of enjoying the facility. It’s a real shame because the pool itself was nice, but the poor condition of the shower area was unacceptable. Aside from the noise and the unpleasant indoor pool experience, the cleanliness of the hotel was awful. The room was disgusting, with stained velvet around the bed—clearly left by bodily fluids, which is absolutely revolting. The maid didn’t clean properly either; the floor was filthy, and they didn’t even wipe down around the sink. We also had issues with towels. Three days in a row, we were not provided with towels, and when we called reception, we had to wait 45 minutes on the first day. The second day, we were told the maids had until 6 pm to deliver towels, leaving us with no option to shower earlier. Breakfast was the only redeeming quality, but even that had its issues. Hotel is nice in general & clean, Restaurant downstairs is also really good but the rooftop is disappointing, constantly attacked by flys & a horrible smell occurs all day which makes it really uncomfortable staying up there for a long period of time

Simply the best, staff , accommodation everything perfect. If you don't stay here you are settling for 2nd best. Cannot wait to come back
