The room was unusual in that the bathroom was up a flight of stairs in the attic of the building. It commanded excellent views of both the sea and the harbour, courtesy of an upgrade. A lively inn, the food was first class and the range of beers a refreshing change. I would recommend wholeheartedly.

We booked on line but at the last minute had to change dates by a day due to hospital appointment, the staff were very accommodating and changed our booked as we requested, we then had a phone call back form the hotel checking that we can manage stairs, which we can and then spent a while discussing which rooms were available and agreed to have one with the on-suite bathroom that is above the actual bedroom, sounds fully but it was brilliant. We decided to eat at the hotel each evening and for our 4 days managed something different each night all or which were very tasty, maybe with the Humus starter which was a bit bland, but no complaints regarding the food at all. Thank you for our stay, we will definitely return.

First time back this year still great service and food, very friendly staff, great quality food as it was before. Very well decorated since the resent fire here. Well worth a visit . Nice to sit outside on there patio area taking in the lovely view of Charlestown.

Great sea view room with double aspect - it was a delight to sit in the window seats and enjoy the varied views. Decent toiletries, ok shower ( but v small shower screen so risk of water escaping shower cubicle). V comfy bed. Limited storage space for clothing in room. Staff were all excellent. Food was good. Breakfast was plentiful - loved my fruity pancakes! Lots going on in Charlestown when we were there - equally it’s a good base for exploring Mevagissey and Fowey.

Stayed a few days as part of a midweek break attending a concert at the nearby located Eden Project. Lovely hotel situated at the end of the harbour, both overlooking the harbour and the sea. Quaint room with sufficient amenities and plenty of character. A delicious breakfast was served on each morning that we stayed, served by staff that could not be friendlier if they tried - a theme consistent amongst all staff members we encountered throughout our stay. Only downside was the inescapable temperature of the hotel room, albeit in the middle of a heatwave. Staff sourced an extra fan for the bedroom in an attempt to combat the heat, which offered little assistance in the absence of air conditioning. Nonetheless, we would definitely book a room if returning to the area.

Lovely place to stay , the view over the harbour was lovely if currently spoilt by the ongoing harbour works , although this is t down to hotel. The staff are what make this place as well as the decor and thought gone into the hotel and rooms . They were so helpful , breakfast was a delight with attentive staff . The food was amazing, if the menu could have greater choice that would be a bonus ! Now for the down sides(sorry) far too many dogs they are everywhere even in the room below us , they are on the nice furniture downstairs in the lounge area I wouldn’t sit on any of the lounging chairs by the fire because of what we saw, they were in every area that you dine in and outside. Smoking and vapes whilst “not allowed” in the outside dining area people were vaping anyway , the smoking area is the best area to look out onto the sea . It’s such a lovely area but I would not sit there because smoking is allowed . I realise that there are still people that smoke but I think for the prices that are charged for eating smoking should be banned completely, anywhere there people are eating or just want to admire the view it isn’t just the smell it’s also inhaling other people’s smoke or chemicals form vapes .

We stayed one night. The hotel and room were really good and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was that our room wasn’t ready in time because there had been several check outs and there weren’t enough staff to clean them.

The hotel is in a lovely spot right on the cove in Charlestown Harbour with great seating inside and out overlooking a [normally] great vista. Not the hotel's fault, but the normal Charlestown was having major works to the lock area that houses the tall ships. So no tall ships and no walk around the far harbour entrance. Hopefully all work done soon. Our room was very clean and the bedding was crisp and luxurious. Air flow was a bit of an issue - the small sash window could not be opened more than a few inches. BUt the team provided a funky Dyson A/C [?] unit to try to help. It didnt really make much difference, and was very noisy. But it showed the team was trying to help wherever possible. The food was lovely, although some menu items were not available [sold out] on one evening. Staff were all top notch. Friendly and helpful at all times. Parking is free up the road at their sister location. But it's a lottery. We had to park in the pay car park one day as there were no slots. But overall a lovely stay in a super location, with good food and [I am biased] St. Austell great beers. Proper Job!
