Das Ivy House ist ein ganz besonderes B&B. In einem schönen Gartengrundstück gelegen, absolut ruhig und dennoch sehr gut angebunden an Bus/Bahn (5 Min. zu Fuß). In einer 1/2 Std. gelangt manz. B. zu den Lost Gardens of Heligan oder zum Eden Project. Mein Zimmer war sehr geräumig, schön möbliert, die Ausstattung des Bettes (Matratze sehr bequem, Decke und Kissen aus Naturfasern) sorgte für sehr guten Schlaf. Der Frühstücksraum sowie das Wohnzimmer vermittelten durch ihre geschmackvolle, individuelle Einrichtung eine wohlige Atmosphäre. Ich habe mich nach den Ganztages-Ausflügen auf die Rückkehr gefreut. Das Frühstück wartete mit einem außergewöhnlich schmackhaften Angebot auf (neben den klassischen Ei-Variationen, Bircher Müsli! und "best homemade pankakes ever"). Netter Nebeneffekt der wenigen Zimmer: Man frühstückt an einem Tisch mit den anderen Gästen und kommt schnell ins Gespräch, ich empfand dies sehr angenehm als Alleinreisende. Last but not least: Mit James wird das Ivy House von einem guten Geist geführt - freundlich, hilfsbereit, sehr entspannt. Das Ivy House war von allen meinen Unterkünften in Cornwall (insgesamt 5) das schönste und auch das mit dem besten Preis/Leistungsvehältnis. Undine (München)

My stay here was excellent. I was doing some walking on the coast path, and the location was good for this, with the bus station a 5-minute walk away.

My friend and I shared spacious Room 3 with wonderful views over the church and town. Everything was tasteful, thoughtful, and spotless, with special mention for our bathroom which was possibly the cleanest I have ever encountered anywhere. The attention to detail was impressive, right down to the removal of stalks from the tomatoes at the excellent breakfasts. There was also the provision of fresh milk on return from a day out. I cannot think of any way for host James to improve on our experience. James did send specific location details as sat navs may take you to the wrong side of the property. I would be very happy to book Ivy House again.

Lovely large light rooms, very nicely decorated. Comfortable bed and good shower. Excellent cooked breakfast and helpful host. Pleasant sitting room and seating outside in pretty garden. Easily reached from St Austell station, and close to St Austell town centre.

Comfortable, well appointed period property, well run by a pleasant, friendly and attentive host. It has a real home from home feel to it. The property is situated in a secluded, peacefull location just a stonesthrow from the station although nothing could be heard of the trains.

Very convenient to the rail station. If walking, be prepared to walk uphill upon arrival. Beautifully furnished house. Lovely grounds. Accommodating host. Delicious large breakfast. Clean rooms. Best of all is the gorgeous view from the small bedroom.

The property is located at the top of St Austell town in a lovely tranquil and quiet area. The location is perfect for touring Cornwall in the car and it’s a 2 minute walk from St Austell railway station. We stayed in room 1. It’s very spacious and we loved the decor especially the vintage touches. There’s also a really good power shower in the en-suite. The breakfasts are very good indeed with a good choice inc vegetarian options. James the owner was the perfect host and all in all we had everything we needed provided and preempted. The garden and rest of the property are lovely too. I’d love to go back again. Thank you James!
