Always a treat to come to the Carlyon with its austerity. Great staff. Facilities are plenty. Challenging golf course. Spoilt for food choice. Breakfast will keep you going all day. Evening dining is special with attentive staff

Excellent hotel,very clean, great location. Bay view restaurant food (breakfast and dinner) was excellent. Special thanks to Holly for every thing she did to make our stay much better. She is very professional, helpful and friendly.

A really classy Hotel with a beautiful vista. A family friendly atmosphere to suit all ages. Facilities in abundance and for all weather. Family rooms on the small side so bear this in mind with older children.

Cornwall as a place is absolutely lovely. Carlyon Bay hotel is definately not 4 star worthy. It is close to 2/3. The hotel is outdated and dingey. The rooms are tired, not maintained an filthy. I wish I didnt see how duvets, towels etc was stored but unfortunately I did. It looked disgusting and I cannot believe I slept in a bed where ameneties are stored in that manner, paintscraped Walls and tiny musty, damp rooms. The dining was also below par, the breakfast was absolutely horrendous, watery eggs and a filthy buffet. We had to change coffee cups several times because those we had were dirty, the ones we were resupplied with were also dirty. Simply not four star. Dinner was okay, nothing to write home about but was sufficient in getting us fed. The spa had a smell that was so off putting that we went in and straight out. After a monday of good golf at Saint Austell golf club we had prebooked a taxi through the hotel and asked for a van as we had a lot of luggage. The taxi they ordered, a Nissan micra. We nearly missed the airports closing time because of this. Luckily the staff drove us to the airport so we could make the jet home. Credit to the attentive female who sorted this out, she was the standout in reception. Carlyon Bay hotel, “the finest stay in Cornwall” - not so much.

Wonderful afternoon tea. Delicious finger sandwiches, lovely selection of sweet treats & 2 scones with jam & cream. Unlimited tea or coffee. Very attentive staff & beautiful surroundings. Highly recommend.

Lovely stay in a fabulous hotel with stunning views. Hotel facitlities were excellent, excellent service and lovely fine dining.
