Has good reviews but we found it a bit mixed. Room was small and tired, but quiet and perfectly adequate for a night. The breakfast however was dreadful. It consisted of Juice & tea/coffee along with a slow cooker with a bowl of scrambled egg in it, make your own toast (from basic poor bread, and cold supermarket type slices of processed ham and cheese. there were cereals as well. Given the 'foody' stance of the place and clearly nice evening meals, menu and reviews, frankly even a few sausages and strips of bacon and baked tomato with the scrambled egg would have been far better. Staff nice, helpful. No real complaints about the place other than the breakfast was dreadful. Just note this seems to be a Thur-Sunday place .. might not get an answer on the phone or by email until those dates

All twelve of our family (ranging from 4 years to 73 years) were on holiday close by so we decided to book a table on our first night as a special treat and what a great decision that was! The staff are just wonderful and the food is absolutely delicious. Make no mistake this is a hidden gem. We all felt really well looked after - so much so that I was told in no uncertain terms to recommend The St Michael's Inn in the visitors' comments book in our holiday accommodation. This was a great start to our family's week.

I don’t usually leave reviews but felt I needed to on this occasion because of how friendly and accommodating the team here were. We had accidentally booked the wrong nights for our trip and they changed the booking with no questions. Really great atmosphere in the bar on Saturday night and staff that were always willing to go over and above to help. Really excellent scrambled egg for breakfast. Looking forward to coming back for dinner another time. Perfect location for exploring St Andrews and the local area.

Absolutely loved our recent lunch at St Michaels Inn. The meal arrived quickly after ordering,The food was outstanding,and the welcome from Krystal was very warm,and she treated us so well, made us comfortable.Will definitely be back ,and highly recommend to our friends and family

The worst Christmas dinner I've ever had - dreadfully inadequate staffing levels resulting in LONG delays before and between courses (40 minutes+); starter ok but main course in my case almost inedible; pre-ordered dessert order "lost". How did they manage that? An expensive disaster, no price reduction offered, only given when we insisted. AND I was locked in the ladies as there was no door handle, I had to shout and bang for ages till someone happened to come in - sounds funny but could have been serious as I'm elderly with a heart condition. I told the manager and got little response. I wrote a letter to the hotel saying I wouldn't review till they said how they proposed to fix things, as we'd previously heard good reports, but have had no reply, not even an email.
