The Spindle Guest Rooms

This is no longer a B&B, as John doesn't offer a hot breakfast. There are snacks and a wonderful chocolate and raspberry cake. I had a couple of slices, mmmmm! Very convenient to walk to town and the golf courses are a 7 minute drive. Parking wasn't a problem. The room was clean. It is just a bedroom and bath though. Nothing you'd want to hang out in. John is exceedingly nice and knows the area and people well.

We stayed for 4 nights to play golf in St Andrews. The Spindle is in a beautiful location, just 5 mins uphill walk into town and around 10-15 mins walk to The Old Course. Parking is on road but free and we never had a problem getting a space. It’s a short walk across a bridge to Dempster Terrace and up steps through the beautifully kept garden to the door of the property. John was really helpful and let us keep our golf clubs in the shared lounge overnight as there really wasn’t space in the bedroom for them. There’s no breakfast provided, however in the lounge is a fridge for guests’ use and a variety of porridge pots, croissants, waffles, cereal bars and homemade cakes & shortbread. John just requests a donation to the charity collection box for any items used. There are tea and coffee facilities in the room, with refills as required in the entrance hall. We’ll definitely rebook for next year!
