This is the second October that we visited Cooperstown and stayed in this motel because it is, in general, an adequately good place to explore the area at an affordable price: basic but with a lovely view of the lake. However, this year we were very disappointed at the conduct of the staff. There was a power outage in the area, which also affected water provision in the motel. As a result, there was no way of flushing the toilet in a room of four with two children, one of whom was not feeling very well. This happened on a Sunday morning and we were due to check out the next day (Monday). Although the receptionist said that the power would likely be restored in 3-4 hours, my family and I were not sure about this prediction, and asked if it were possible for us to depart a day earlier and receive the refund for the last day. The receptionist explained that she is a "weekend employee" and she does not have the authority to make this decision, while also refusing to give us the contact details of the management, who apparently relinquish their supervisory responsibility over the weekend. The receptionist proceeded to state that the property "is in the country" and things like this can happen pretty often--meaning, water and electricity outages can happen and you, unlucky customer, better deal with it but also pay in full. We do not expect a boutique experience from a random motel; but we do expect the minimum courtesy of understanding that a hotel cannot impose the technicality of its no-refund policy when it is unable to provide its terms of service (here: basic amenities) regardless of the reason behind this inability. The hotel should either allow people to leave with a refund for the remaining day(s), or at the very least make a gesture of reducing the price for a day, offer vouchers, etc. Their solution was to give us water from the rather murky pool to use in the bathroom, which we did not need because at that moment, thankfully, the electricity was restored. About an hour afterward, the owner (?) knocked at the door to see if we are well or need anything. Kind of her to stop by, but totally unnecessary and decorative at that point. Presenting the outage as "something beyond our control" for which "you have to pay nonetheless" is the attitude of grifters, not of serious business people with a sense of honor and customer service. We are not returning next year.

Myself, my son and some friends visited the BHF at Cooperstown N.Y. In August. I made reservations in January for a three night stay at the Lake N Pines motel. In June my friends decided to only stay two. I called the motel to cancel the third night. After many emails and calls the third night was cancelled on August 7th. However, I was refused a refund despite meeting all the refund policies. The motel referred me to the insurance co. The insurance co. said it was the motels responsibility. Needless to say I never received a refund. My recommendation would be not to stay at The Lake N Pines motel for there are many motels to choose from. Also if you take insurance don't use the Worry-Free Bookings Co. no matter where you stay. I will update this review periodically to inform other baseball fans

Do not stay here!!! My husband and I checked into our room and when we returned we couldn’t get in. After trying the lock multiple times we found that the person staying in the room next to us had somehow gotten into our room and been staying there. Instead of offering any kind of sympathy the staff’s solution was to move us to a different room and tell us they wouldn’t charge us for the “upgrade.” When we expressed how frustrated we were that this happened they shrugged their shoulders and told us “it wasn’t their fault.” Not only was this a huge safety concern but I’ve never seen such bad hospitality. Definitely worth it to pay more to stay somewhere where people can’t get into your room and the staff will actually care about your safety and stay.

We stayed at this motel for our sons week at Cooperstown dreams Park. It is farther from dreams park than other places, but we really had no traffic and didn’t mind the drive at all. In fact it was nice to be removed when we wanted to be. It was just my husband and I so that is something to consider because we could spend the whole day out of the motel where if you had younger children, you might want to go back to take a nap. We didn’t use the amenities of the motel because we really weren’t there very much during the day. We were at dreams Park, out having drinks or food with friends , or in downtown Cooperstown area . We have no complaints with the motel. It was clean and comfortable . The lake was gorgeous. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

A hidden gem. Extremely friendly staff. Variety of clean rooms with parking directly outside of your door. Beautiful grounds with access to the lake. Convenient to Cooperstown. Rooms for a quick overnight or bigger rooms for a longer stay. Would stay here again!

We stayed in suite 120 over induction weekend. We were there for family gathering and not baseball and the x2 price increase for this particular weekend was a bit painful. $600+. Supply and demand in the USA! In 2022 we booked suite 132 which had really smelly rugs, though it was very private. 120 is nicer and cleaner but kitchen is comparitivly bare bones and there is minor rug odor. Beautiful deck and view of the lake. Big problem is aside from small kitchen window, the only way to allow in needed fresh air is via slider onto the deck which has no screen. Both bedroom windows are obstructed with ACs. Flys and mosquitoes enjoyed access. We asked about screen door for slider and were shunned. Also big picture window facing lake from living room which doesn't open is obstructed by internal condensation. Needs more TLC for the $$.

The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom (tub, sink, shower) worked as it should. Lots of fresh linens available. The hot tub and sauna were very much appreciated-- not what I would have expected from such a reasonably-priced motel. The staff was courteous and friendly. It's hard to say too much about what a good motel this is.

Nice family run hotel. Got the exact room we booked on line. The room was really clean. Wonderful view of the lake. Loved watching the boats from the balcony. Looked like the room had been recently renovated. Driveway was a little steep. Would highly recommend.

The rooms are very small but were clean. The doors in and out of the room were hard to shut. Some family members had issues with TV working. The facility needs a face lift for the price we paid. $222 Friday and $245 Saturday. No continental breakfast was served, paddle boats were not free and the staff were very rude, especially to anyone with teenagers. Also might mention they have cameras everywhere, and they listen to your conversations on the monitors on the outside grounds. Over-all I rate it a 2, a 1 would mean I am as rude as the lady at the front desk. Definitely need to improve on customer service skills, I won’t be returning to Lake N Pine Cooperstown, NY motel.
