Hotel Ruby

The room was ok--but smelled of smoke. I arrived late and email instructions were to check in at a nearby sister hotel, but when I got there, no one was around and gave me a number to call at another nearby sister hotel. they answered quickly and someone came to meet me, and got me in my room fast.

Normally, we stay at a different hotel. We were in Spokane for a concert (the venue not being the concert hall across the street) but looked into hotels close before making reservations and Hotel Ruby was one of them that popped up. It also had a lounge, which we were looking for... something to do after the concert. Free breakfast in the morning, and secure parking at night. All being centrally located and under $80?! You bet! Plus, the decor drew me in. Seemed amazing! However....... the secure parking only holds about 8 cars. You pay the $5 fee regardless. I asked at check in if I payed the fee, if it was for sure we'd get a spot. It's first come first serve. Everyone else parks a block away at the Ruby2. The lounge that I was so looking forward to enjoying, was closed when the concert was over. The breakfast was disappointing :( And, unless they have them hidden, there was no coffee pot in the room. The bathroom kind of resembled a park bathroom with a tub/ shower. The few good things I can say about my stay is... the decor was kinda cool, and the bed was very comfortable. The room temperature stayed very comfortable. Normally in hotels it's freezing or you're sweating. Where we had the heater temp, it kept it perfect. Although I did hear a few things from outside, it wasn't what bothered me the most. I guess I was just expecting a little more. For roughly the same price, there's better choices out there.

The Ruby is quiet with very comfy beds. Good value for the price. Fabulous location to central downtown Spokane. Nothing fancy but cute and clean. Would def stay again

I would rate 0 if possible. This so called hotel is actually a motel that resembles a motel that rents out by the hour, if you know what I mean. We were routed here because the Davenport across the street over booked our hotel and made our reservation null and void. They said that they were doing us a service by putting us up free in a flea bag hotel that had rent by the hour vibes. We were mortified when we arrived at the motel. We the walked back ( in the rain) to the Davenport , where miraculously at 2:30 in the morning they had a room available. It was not a room we requested. Was suppose to be a 2 queen bed and we received a king with a rollaway. The front desk manager was noticeable overwhelmed , but the general manager was no where to be found. And the front desk clerk wanted to crawl in a hole. Busy now, the lobby was full of guests, many of which had sporting events at 8 a.m. it was now 2:30 a.m.. no one had a room. My initial call made me believe I would be on a waiting list at the Centennial, but would be tentatively booked at the Davenport at the same rate of $409 x 4 nights which would be $1636 plus tax and I was charged $3700!!!!!! More than double. When I call ,I get a foreign guy with limited English, which does not meet Marriott standards. THIS HAS SCAM WRITTEN ALL OVER IT AND I REQUEST A FULL REFUND FOR THIS DEBACLE , and did I mention I had my 16 year old daughter with me to witness this mess. I need a reply
