Very noisy. Next to none off street parking. Not good value for money. Reception being part of the duties of the bar staff is an advantage for after hours Book-in. Meals were ok but a little over priced. Very few balcony units. The room was clean but getting a bit old.

We dined as a group of 10 Family & friends, booking at 12am. Note do not use their online menu as the pub menu is different. We started with shared plates 2 servings of prawn & Mango Bruschetta $16 each, 1 bruschetta per serving (last 2) ???very nice 2 servings of seared scallops 4 per serving $22 each. Very well cooked plump & juicy, very nice 1 garlic bread as they had sold out, really 1 Ceviche of king fish $19 again very nice 1 buffalo wings $18 again lovely For the mains 1 grilled seafood plate $33 supposed to have grilled salmon but they ran out & substituted with barra, very nice. 1 Prawn & Pancetta linguine, pasta was overcooked. 1 confit duck with pan fried gnocchi, the gnocchi was burnt confit duck should be tender & juicy, this was neither. 1 char grilled lamb loin, it was totally overcooked & tough, only able to force down about a quarter not nice at all. I had the gilled barra with crushed kipfler potatoes ( not crushed) & Thai salad, certainly did not taste like thai salad, but I did enjoy the meal 1 beer Battered ling chips & salad, my wife lover fish & chips, but not this one, the 3 pieces of fish we oily & left an unpleasant taste in the mouth, even the chips were not the enjoyable. 1 Fried seafood platter, about 10 % eaten the white bait & calamari was floury & left that terrible taste in the mouth. We can only assume the kitchen was to busy & the food not cared for. The taste comes from old oil used for multiple food types, can not explain it any other way. on leaving I did notice numerous unfinished meal, especially the fried ones.

Amazing char grilled octopus salad for $17. Better than anything I have had on the Greek islands. So tasty and tender. We also stayed and cycled the lakeside bike path, lovely. One day they will move the major access road from the lake shore and it will be perfect!

The location was perfect, on the shore of Lake Macquarie. I was here for 3 nights. I was not able to check in 20 minutes early after a long journey on public transport, and advised to wait in the busy bar area. There was no separate reception area. My room was clean but tired. In need of a refurb and urgent decoration. Cups and plates were teastained and mismatched. No choice of tea but fresh milk was a great bonus. Very limited toiletries for a 3 night stay in a 3 bed room! No toaster or microwave, and no breakfast was available. The food in the restaurant was great. Good value and we ate there twice with young children. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The shower was hot and the bed comfortable. The noise was the issue, not from the bar below, but from the traffic outside and, I can only assume, the plumbing and /or a generator of some sort going on and off all night. I was in a room at the side, not overlooking the lake, room 7. I would not book again for this reason only. The parking on site was tight and not always available as there is no specific parking for residents, and spaces are often taken up by restaurant/bar visitors. This was awkward as we had children with us. A mixed review. Great staff, great location, just needs some TLC

Stay here at least yearly. This visit was extremely disappointing. We were in room 16. Certainly spacious enough but maintenance and housekeeping is sadly lacking. Our air con not working only the fan does. Furniture all sticky. Shower leaks onto bathroom floor. Cups had dirty brown tea stains in them. Only 2 hangers supplied which look like a previous guest may have left them.

Revisited after 2 years and wasn’t disappointed. The menu choices are great as are the portion sizes, Value for money, the staff were very friendly and attentive. Of course the location is wonder as well, definitely won’t leave it that long before we visit again
