Hampton Inn Spartanburg-North I-85

Booked at the last minute while we where driving back from Florida. always worried about picking the wrong hotel But this one was excellent !! very clean and great breakfast .

We stayed in May 2025. Nice property. Welcoming lobby. Front desk ladies very nice and professional. King with sofa had room to spread out a bit. This is probably the first TV remote that I could not figure out with the matching TV service. It was very tricky. The TV appeared to have wireless but I couldn’t figure it out either. The bathroom was well lit. The shower head probably had the strongest flow rate of any hotel in the last 16 days on the road. I loved it! However, my wife said it was too hard, and there was not a position on the shower head that made it soft enough for her. The lavatory appeared to have a fine crack at the bottom of the sink. Possible maintenance issue. The curtain rod was loose and hanging down. It made it difficult to keep the ends of the shower curtain against the ends of the tub area. That probably needs some maintenance attention too. And it may be time to provide a new mattress for room 402. Seems to have some uncomfortable ruts. This was my biggest complaint. The sofa couch was quite comfortable to sit on - which is rare. The coffee table was a nice addition. Probably the darkest room of all the Hampton Inns we’ve stayed at on this 4000 mile trip. Very Nice! The light switches on the lamps seem to be wearing out a bit too. My wife had a hard time rotating the switch on her side of the bed. Breakfast area is quite large and can seat a lot of people. Standard Hampton breakfast offerings. Large elevators that were quieter than the usual Hamptons and somewhat speedier too. Closet door slider seemed to jam easily and not open all the way. Minor maintenance issue. Mini fridge was not level, which created a wobble and noisy effect when opening and closing the door. This hotel could use some refreshing in the rooms and common areas. However, it seemed pretty clean. Breakfast was a little better than average. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. It was super quiet and we slept well. We were in a regular room and it had two chairs, a desk chair and an armchair. A room with two beds should have two chairs, but they often don’t. The room rate was more affordable than other nearby properties.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Hamption Inn North. I wish I had remembered the last stay before returning, so I'll leave my review before I forget again. The Good: The staff members were nice and polite and very friendly. I got in late and was just ready to sleep, but after checking in, I was pleased with my encounter. It was quiet. Despite bumping into nearly a dozen younger teens at 1030pm while checking in, I heard nothing all night. It is convenient. Easy access to and from the interstate. The bad: This hotel is tired and not entirely clean. I was a little surprised Hampton still puts their name on it. I stay in hotels 100 nights a year, and this was the dirtiest, least maintained Hampton I have ever seen. The door frame into my room was brown and black with years of hands, feet, and luggage hitting it. It was gross. The shower rod was barely attached to the wall and hanging precariously. The counter top in the bathroom had burn marks from something hot left on it. There were some sort of stains on the wall next to the bed. And, after only using the bathroom (#1 only), the toilet overflowed. Truly, this location needs a major investment in maintenance.

The hotel rooms are clean but dated need new mattress the bed was not comfortable for me shoulder and sciatic leg got about three hours tops had to get in the chair. Staff was very nice. Lobby was clean.
