Unfortunately, it was not up to the standard we had expected, particularly given the reputation and cost of staying in a suite at the hotel. Check-In Experience Upon arrival, we had to wait for quite some time at check-in without any acknowledgment, apology, or thanks from the staff. The check-in area felt disorganised, resembling a storeroom with chairs scattered everywhere and staff dumping their belongings around us. Bar and Dining When we visited the bar, we were not approached by staff despite them chatting behind the counter. We were informed we could order food upon arrival, only to wait 15 minutes and then be told the kitchen had closed. Considering the hotel's remote location, it’s essential to offer some form of dining throughout the day for guests. Room Issues In our suite, the blind was broken. While a temporary solution was found, it was clear the issue had not been properly addressed, leaving us unable to open the blind. Additionally, the desk lamp had a two-pin plug with no compatible socket nearby, rendering it unusable. There were also no dressing gowns provided in the suite, which was surprising given the cost and the expectation of certain amenities. Parking and Safety The car park and the road leading to it were poorly lit, with no lighting in certain areas. This created a dangerous environment, especially considering the uneven surface of the car park. This lack of lighting raises serious health and safety concerns. Dining Experience While the starters during dinner were acceptable, the mains left much to be desired: - The pork was very tough. - The salmon contained an excessive number of bones. - The turkey portion was small and lacked flavour. At breakfast, we were surprised when we requested juice and fruit and were told it was unavailable. This is a basic offering even at budget hotels like Premier Inn. That said, the cooked breakfast was flavourful and well-prepared. Overall Experience Regrettably, the stay did not meet our expectations. The numerous issues, from check-in to dining and room amenities, made for a disappointing experience. I sent this email to the hotel over a week ago, as I always prefer to go direct to them with issues before coming to trip advisor. Suffice to say, over a week later, and no response which is very disappointing and shows how little this hotel cares for its guests.

We visited for three nights for a family funeral and it was a very comfortable stay. The Brunel suite was very warm and spacious for the three of us - although the lack of any window covering in the bathroom is a little disconcerting. We had everything we needed in the room and the maid was very accommodating when we asked for extra water. Breakfast on two of the three days was excellent, the middle morning was really an off day - had that been our only morning we may have left with a different impression! The evening bar staff were very friendly and efficient, and the Christmas decor was very welcoming. It was our third stay and we will definitely stay here again.

We were looking forward to our first visit to Welbeck Manor to celebrate my birthday. I booked a table for four on Thursday 4th December. Upon our arrival we felt a bit underwhelmed, It was quite dark not at all welcoming just a few tables spread around the restaurant with a big open space in the middle. There was only one other table of a couple with two children. We were taken to our table where the menus were on the table, upon reading them we were in disbelief of what we were being offered! My husband then realised that we were looking at the lunch menu, so we spoke to the waitress and asked her for the dinner menu, she then disappeared saying she would look into it. She was gone for about 10 mins.. We were then told that they had a chef short and the chef who was working that evening could only offer the lunch menu, and were assured that this chef was very competent but had no ingredients. At this time we asked why we weren't informed of this situation before we arrived. The waitress was very apologetic and said we should have been contacted to tell us the situation. As we didn't want to eat burgers, fish and chips pizza etc, we left and found somewhere else to celebrate my birthday. Not at all what we planned. Very disappointed !! , .

Came with family for Sunday lunch. Food was excellent. We all had the roast beef and it was Devine. Compliments to the chef. The setting is truly wonderful overlooking the beautiful golf course. We’ve eaten here a number of times and never been disappointed. We will be back.

Some staff were lovely. Some had to be hunted for such as to serve us breakfast on the Saturday. The shower was dangerous, wirhout moving control from medium it went from scading hot to freezing. The room was shabby outside lighting hit and miss. The beds were comfy and there were good quality coffe bags and biscuits.

Very dangerous shower, scalding hot to freezing without touching dial. Room scruffy but clean. However it was like sleeping in a corridor, vastly overpriced for what it was. Beds comfy and good quality linen bur a scruffy, grubby looking scatter cushion was second pillow. Some staff were friendly and welcoming, some definitely not. Had to hunt for someone to serve breakfast on first day, no fruit juice or toast although main was fine. Wouldn't stay there again or recommend it. When I reported the dangerous shower no refund offered.

We came here for an evening meal and to stay 1 night with breakfast. The hotel is in a lovely location. The food was amazing, especially the dressed crab cake. The staff were very friendly and hard working. We loved the relaxed atmosphere and would definitely visit again.
