GGuest UserThe location and amenities were great, but almost every facet of the trip was made frustrating by the hotel booking policies and front desk manager. I had a $250 Delta gift card that could not be used to pre-book the room to get a better rate. I called and was told I’d have to book the “member rate” (since I’m a member of Marriot Bonvoy and have their app) to use my gift card. That rate was $60 worse than prepaying on the app and $89 worse than trip.com. Considering they already have the money from the gift card you’d think they would have a way to use it while booking on their app or over the phone, not gouge you for the worst possible rate. Next, while we reserved a “water view room”, not a “partial water view” and paid extra, the photos show our lovely view of a steel plant, parking lot, mall and partial water view if you walked right up to the window and looked out at a sharp angle. I called 2 days before and requested early check in and was told 1pm. When I arrived our room was not ready. The manage (R****) was extremely rude and just acted confused, as if she didn’t understand, but seemed to understand and was just unwilling to do anything. There was a sock under the bed.
GGuest UserWe stayed for three nights in a king size suite. Room was spacious and very clean. Hotel is close to a busy road but we heard very little noise at night. Gym was good and well equipped. Breakfast was also good with eggs, bacon, bagels etc. Hotel is close to Walmart Supercentre and other large stores. My only gripe was the laundry. One washing machine and dryer. Cost $1.75 each. I had to hunt around for some coins in the end Reception came to my aid but it would be good if these were free, such a small amount of money when you consider our total bill was $800+. Apart from that all good.
LLEThe hotel is very new and the service is very good. Although it is only a fast hotel standard, the actual room facilities and service levels are very good. There are free masks for entry. Breakfast cannot be provided for dine-in, but breakfast is provided for take-out, which is very intimate... …
GGuest UserWe had a wonderful stay here. The staff were extremely friendly, the bedroom was clean and the mattress was perfect. I noticed someone on their review said the elevator was slow but this was definitely not a problem when we were there. The only negative are the bath towels. The bath towels are extremely thin and there were only two of them. The hotel is close to the Agawa Train station and we were able to walk there in about 10 minutes. There is a mall directly across the street and the board walk is minutes away. Breakfast was included and it was alright. There were always eggs, sausages, potatoes, yogurt, juice, and toast (bagels, english muffins or bread).
We had high hopes that we'd have a cute little cabin for our stay, but it was closer to one of those cabins that you see in horror movies. The bathroom was moudly and musty, to the point that we had to keep the door shut to avoid smelling it. When we turned on the bathroom fan it got even worse, there were ants in the bathroom, and there was potpourri in there to try to hide the smell. Cupboards in the bathroom and kitchen were hanging crookedly, there was no hot water for showering - you only had a few seconds of hot water before the heater shut off. There wasn't a plug for the bathroom sink, so we had to stuff a wash cloth in the drain to try and do a light wash in the sink (since showers weren't an option with no hot water). The sinks in the bathroom and kitchen were rust stained and so was the stove. The curtains had burn marks, the fridge had a burned out light, it was missing a front step (that should have been our first clue how bad things were going to be 😶). The towels were stained, the couch was stained, the flooring was stained, the carpet was stained, the kettle was stained, the internet kicked in and out, etc. Some of these are only little things, but all together they add up to show how little care is put into maintaining this place. The only good thing I can say is that the beds were comfy and the roof didn't leak. If you're thinking of staying here, DON'T! It is way too expensive and you can get a much nicer stay almost anywhere else.
We always stay at the water tower inn when we go to the Soo. The hotel is clean and couldn't be more conveniently located with two restaurants on site. Plus plenty of shopping and restaurants near by. The kids absolutely love the pool and outdoor hot tub. Highly recommend!! It's always a great stay!!!
