Our previous trip staying in Novotel Sydney for 9 days was unpleasant as the room cleaning was always not done and have to constantly calling the housekeeper to send the staffs to clean it. This trip during the Hotel Check in , I’ve brought it up to the counter staff, and we don’t face the same issues like last trip. During our 7 days staying, 1st day hotel sent the complementary fruits/cheese platter to our rooms. And the most important that our both room was cleaned, towel changed, etc. out 1st nite, we have a splendid dinner at St Thomas Kitchen in the hotel. The steaks was nicely done, the side dishes and desserts was great ! Have ordered room service for burger and salad, tast good and food delivery was fast. Will stays there again for our next trip.

Has stayed a few times here, always preferred to stay here because of the access to a kitchen and laundry. However, this experience is the worst I had. Was sick during one of the days (had diahorrea and fever) and one of the days there, the water was out, couldn't flush the toilet. Called reception but couldn't get to them so waited from early to late morning to get the plumbing fixed. Next, the light dropped and water started seeping out when I on the aircon. Had just walked passed the cooridor so fortunately missed it if not the light would have hitted my head.

TTeesh_hGreat location with a surprising moody and dark relaxing ambience. The included breakfast was great, with a variety of pastries, hot and cold breakfast options. Better than most continental breakfasts. Immediately upon entrance you felt relaxed and the scent in the lobby was tasteful. Rooms were not to small but great for a couple, business trip of friends travelling.

LLauren PatriciaGreat location within walking distance of good sights. Room was clean and showers and toilets were better than I imagined! Not a lover of sharing but it wasn’t bad at all. Was able to store my luggage there when I couldn’t check in yet, and after I checked out. Reception area was nice and welcoming. Would have been nice to have had towels provided or at least got the full amount back on return. Seems a little odd having to pay for them and give them back, if I’d have known I would have taken my own. Didn’t have time to eat in the cafe downstairs as there were so many other places in Sydney I wanted to visit but it looked good! The noise in the club below was very loud and did keep me awake until the early hours!

JJidaniI hate it to say but I think I got a beg bug bitten my leg on the very first night. However, staff was very helpful, they offered me to change the room as the first room I stayed has one girl that seem to stay here for a very long time. Most of the people here are on work&holiday visa, not a real traveller, it quite silly for me trying to make some friends while I was staying here😅

MmatthewThe hotel was completely and meticulously renovated. 😀 I am blown away by the sleek and simple yet modern and elegant hotel lobby . The high ceiling and the bricks give a voluminous feel. The hotel reception very friendly and proactive. The room floor consistent in terms of design and use of colour. Very eye soothing. The location unbeatable and surrounded by heaps of eateries and shops. Distance to central station only 5 min by foot. Super nice hotel and will come back

VVSingWhen I booked two Deluxe Family Rooms at Furama Darling Harbour for a 6-day stay with family, I had high hopes for comfort, convenience, and a pleasant experience. Here’s how it went. Location: Convenient, but Parking Woes The location of Furama Darling Harbour is undoubtedly one of its highlights. Nestled within walking distance of numerous restaurants offering cuisines from all over the globe, it was a food lover's dream. Finding the hotel wasn’t a challenge either, thanks to clear signage and central placement. However, the parking situation? That’s another story. The hotel doesn’t have an on-site parking lot. Instead, we had to park about a five-minute walk away, which isn’t ideal when lugging bags or dealing with Sydney’s occasional drizzle. Plus, the cost added up—$244 AUD for six days. If parking convenience matters to you, it’s worth factoring this in. Cleanliness: Mixed Experiences Cleanliness was... average, to say the least. While the first day seemed fine, housekeeping didn’t exactly shine as the stay went on. On Day 2, we were surprised (and not in a good way) to find dirty towels left after the room was cleaned. Fast forward to Day 5, and we found toilet paper and stray hairs under the blanket after housekeeping had supposedly “refreshed” the space. Not exactly the five-star housekeeping you’d hope for. To be fair, we didn’t raise the issue with reception that evening—it was our last night, and we figured housekeeping staff would already be off-duty. But, as a guest, you shouldn’t have to weigh these options. Service: Quick and Friendly, But a Breakfast Mishap Service at Furama Darling Harbour was a bright spot overall. The staff were warm, responsive, and accommodating, whether it was resolving issues with the TV or bringing up extra towels. That said, we hit a snag with the included breakfast. Our booking clearly stated breakfast for four people per room, which should have covered eight of us across two rooms. Yet, when we went down, they claimed the booking only covered four breakfasts total. After some back-and-forth with both hotel staff and Trip’s customer service, the issue was resolved. But it wasn’t exactly a stress-free start to the day. Facilities: Functional, But Nothing Fancy The gym was basic but functional—a single machine covering major muscle groups, though no free weights were in sight. It’s fine if you’re just looking to get in a quick workout. The laundry room was handy, though a bit pricey: $5 AUD each to wash and dry, plus $3 AUD for detergent. Breakfast, while initially enjoyable, became repetitive after two days. A buffet should ideally offer more variety, but here the options changed only slightly. Updating the in-room TVs to include smart features wouldn’t hurt either; it felt like the tech was stuck in the past. Rooms: Spacious and Comfortable Now, for the standout feature—the rooms. They were impressively spacious, with plenty of room for our luggage and still enough space to move around comfortably. The beds? Absolute heaven. I slept like a rock every night, with no noise disturbances or distractions. The bathroom mirrored this sense of space, steering clear of that cramped, claustrophobic feeling that some hotels suffer from. It’s refreshing to stay somewhere that values comfort this much. Final Thoughts: Worth a Stay, Despite Flaws Would I recommend Furama Darling Harbour? Absolutely, especially for families. The spacious rooms, friendly service, and fantastic location make it a strong contender. Yes, cleanliness and parking could use improvement, but the positives—comfortable beds, quiet nights, and accommodating staff—outweigh the negatives. If you can overlook a few quirks and minor inconveniences, Furama offers a good home base for exploring Sydney. Just be ready for some parking acrobatics and keep an eye on those housekeeping details!

DDaniellaJadeI enjoyed my stay at this hotel! The room had three single beds, which was perfect for our group, and the beds were really comfy. The room itself was a bit run down, but nothing too bad. The staff at reception were lovely and very helpful. The location was fantastic—close to everything we needed!

8852kmGood location, just 10 minutes by foot can reach the Central station. So very easy to go to the Airport. The hotel was behind a busy street, so not very noisy. It is close to the China Town light rail station & can walk to George Street within 10 minutes. Also easily to go to the Town Hall, QVB & Opera House by light rail. There are many restuarant around the hotel with many good food. Coffee shop is plenty. The room was clean & tidy. Although I ordered a limited house keeping, the hotel still gave me a 3days house keeping!!! It is out of my expectation, Good job.

TTinaWould definitely stay here again! We got in super early, about 9:30 AM and just planned to drop our luggage off, but they got us in a room right away! Staff were super friendly and helpful, even loaned us an adapter as we brought the wrong type. Location is great, easy access to food and public transit too. Rooms could use some fresh paint and a couple bulbs were out, but it had everything we needed and was comfy and secure too. Unfortunately they were doing some night time construction outside, but that was unavoidable.

GGuest UserMost of the staff was friendly, especially the receptionist. The capsules look very futuristic and are quite big. There is a huge common room where you can watch TV and play billiards. But the design of the hotel is very poor, for instance the cabins of the toilets are way too small. Same applies to the bathroom. Some parts in the bathrooms are broken (leaking waste drains and shower heads etc.). The kitchen was very dirty and smelly. Was a nightmare to cook there.
