G Boutique Hotel

A very nice hotel in an excellent location for Southsea beach and common. Excellent breakfast, comfortable room and helpful staff.

The softest bed! Lovely clean room and polite helpful staff. My partner and myself had a comfortable beautiful sleep due to the area being quiet. Breakfast in bed was perfect too. Would highly recommend and would definitely come again 👌🏻

PLEASE AVOID!!! I have written a complaint to the hotel and got no reply, so here goes, lets do this publicly! My hubby booked this hotel as a surprise for our 1st Anniversary. Surprise it was! The room we were in was titled " Giddy with delight", which I was not! I'm not going to detail the 43 things that were disgusting and below a 1 star standard as I did in the hotels complaint! However we stayed approx. 1 hr before even the receptionist apologised about the state of the room! Lets just say, I've looked through the photos, and this does not represent the dirt, dust and disgustingness of the room! What a waste of time, money and bad management all the way round! I went home to have a bath! Having said that Stattons Hotel is a little way round the corner and is FANTASTIC!

A well located hotel in Southsea near park and pier. Parking available. Easy to travel to local attractions and restaurants. Local bus service superb for travel to Historic Dockyard. In need of a refurb, decor rather tired. Shower difficult to regulate.

We stayed here for two nights to visit the historic dockyard before moving onto the Isle if Wight, we booked it through Booking dot com. We had a luxury room on the ground floor which had just been finished. First I'd like to mention the staff and service; from checking in to checking out the staff we interacted with were polite, very helpful and friendly, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Breakfast service was good with a wide selection to choose form, hot food is cooked to order so not particularly quick when busy but still far superior to a buffet style. Our room, Gracious, is on the ground floor at the front of the property, our initial concerns about road noise and being next to the hotel entrance were happily unfounded. The ensuite bathroom is huge, with a spa bath at one end and a double shower enclosure at the other. The bed is large, probably super king-size?, and comfortable, there is a small dressing table and wardrobe and a soft chair. Everything was spotlessly clean. We had no complaints at all but there a few things that management may want to consider going forward; there is a large flat screen smart tv mounted on the wall above the dressing table which makes it difficult to watch from the bed being at 90° to the wall. There was an issue getting a reliable service on the TV which staff tried to resolve during our stay; there was also an intermittent issue with the WiFi dropping in and out. We found the shower water pressure on the low side but forgot to mention this before we left. Location is good, 5 minute walk to the nearest restaraunts on Albert Road or a 10 minute bus ride into Portsmouths Gunwharf Quay, the bus stops right outside the hotel. We would definitely stay again

Stayed here for one night paid over £200 for one night advertised as a luxury boutique hotel not the worst place we’ve stayed but long way of the best . The staff were great friendly and helpful location was nice and the breakfast was good. Just the room in general definitely in need of some care and attention very warm in room only window in bathroom and bedroom and both only open 2 inches but was an Aircon unit in room but very noisy so you wouldn’t want it going all night . Decor very worn furniture scratched bed been repaired badly with expanding foam marks over walls .l But to be fair it was quite clean just the actual room let the score down. On a plus note they do provide a parking permit if no spaces out front .

We stayed here for three nights and booked a standard room. The room was small and outdated but clean. The bed wasn’t very comfortable, there was no safe or fridge, and there wasn’t a suitable wardrobe for clothing. Also, no mirror on the desk so I had to do makeup sat on the floor using the full length mirror. The breakfast was good, offering both cold and hot options. It was great that parking was included. All the staff we interacted with were lovely. The issue we found is that this is a B&B, not a boutique hotel as advertised.

BEWARE! The images of this hotel that are displayed online do not accurately reflect the hotel in reality. I was so disappointed with the quality of my "boutique" room titled "Glorious" , that I took a $867 hit and changed hotels. I've stayed at hotels ranging from 2 to 5 stars. To classify this hotel as "Boutique" or 4 star is laughable. The fixtures and furnishings look as if they were purchased from HomeBase. Wire hangers, plastic plants, generic toiletries, no charging ports, no headboard lights and torn wallpaper make this decidedly a 2 star hotel at best. It actually looked as if they blew threw their funds to build this hotel and had to finish on a strictly bare bones budget. And it shows. The hotel is in a nice quiet residential area of Portsmouth-Southsea but it is NOT centrally located. For instance, the trip from the train station to the hotel via taxi was about 10-15 minutes. And, there are no attractions nearby that would be of interests to out-of-town visitors. For that, you'd need to travel to Portsmouth Harbour Gunwharf Quays. So, I ended up booking a 2 night stay at Holiday Inn Express Gunwharf Quays which cost about the same but was far superior. Located at Gunwharf Quays outlets and only a 10 minute walk to the train station, I found the Holiday Inn Express to be a far better value for money. The only positive thing I can say about this experience is that I discovered a much better hotel and location for my next trip to Portsmouth.

Pillows felt like concrete and ignored by breakfast staff 3 times, took another couple to get them to notice us. One breakfast staff member clearly did not want to be there, no smiles and was made to feel like we were an inconvenience for wanting the breakfast included in the reservation. When breakfast arrived, it was thrown on the table. Will not be using again.
