Southport Hotels with Gym

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here, and were so pleased that we did. We had a gorgeous deluxe room, overlooking the marina. Unfortunately, my husband is allergic to feathers, and we didn't realise that feather duvet and pillows would be provided. Within 5 minutes of contacting Reception, housekeepers arrived to change the bedding. Nothing was too much trouble. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and pleasantly served, so I don't know why there were negative reviews on here about the food. When we checked out, the Receptionist said that we could keep our car there for a few more hours so that we could enjoy Southport for longer. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

Centrally located hotel for all you need in Southport. Arrived and greeted with friendly staff and receptionist Helen booked us in speedily. V Studio room was overlooking Lord St 4th floor. Spacious room loved the deep bath and controllable heating. All apps on tv. Massive bed, tea and coffee, safe and fridge. Didn't use the bar but popped head in looked cosy and was busy. Breakfast was exceptional with choice of foods and if not on ask and I did and black pudding was cooked fresh and brought to table. All dining room staff wore a smile and helpful. Did a late check out, worth it. Chat with day porter and reception Emily after breakfast again so cheerful and all employees a credit to the Vincent hotel. Check out easy. Recommend the hotel without hesitation.

Oh how I wished I read these reviews before booking. I have stayed at Formby Hall a couple of times before so expected it to be the same good quality but how wrong was I. I booked a spa package for my family booking two loft suites with conjoining rooms @ £349 per room to celebrate my retirement. When we arrived we were downgraded to two loft superior rooms which were not conjoining and which are significantly cheaper. After speaking to the Receptionist who had a real attitude we managed to get the conjoining rooms but not the loft suites as she told us they were fully booked and they had to be fair to other guests. We were paying guests!!!, at this point we were ready to leave but was told in a very sarcastic manner, your stay is not refundable. One of the bathrooms had a horrible drain smell. No complimentary fizz in one of the rooms. The restaurant was not much better, long waits for food nearly 40mins for sweets and with two very young children this was too long so we left and cancelled the sweets, the staff apologised saying they were serving a party who had pre booked their meals but they arrived 1.5hrs after we sat down. Breakfast was ok, but long waits for scrambled eggs, beans, no cups for coffee and only one machine working properly. I won’t be booking here ever again, there are far too many alternatives available at much more reasonable prices and without the attitude.
