Devine Beach Hotel, Westcliff Southend-on-Sea

If I could rate 0 I would. Service is awful! Unable to find booking after I called them, emailed them and turned up to check in with no confirmation or anything. Hotel refused a refund and no one even stayed! Couldn’t find booking via email, number or reference !

0/10. It was a half was house with drug ******* outside of it smoking. No answer when calling to early check in. Our room was open so we entered. A lady opened the door to which we apoglised to each other and she went. Another lady came and accused us of threatening and abusing the original woman. I asked if there was cctv to which he said yes to. Bear in mind I had my 4 year old with me. We offered to leave an come back and she said no there was no need. We then went to the beach and returned to our door locked and no access to our belongings or our son’s medication. We called the buzzer and the woman came and said she didn’t care. Said she would get there later. My son was wet cold and needed his medication and we had no way of getting it. Luckily the door was cheap and rubbish like the rest of the property so we could push it open and we swiftly left. They are now claiming we abused and threatened them but won’t answer hooking.coms emails or calls funnily enough

The room was nothing like advertised, small and very noisy paper thin walls delapidated decor Toilet door was made of 2 old slatted see through cupboard doors, unhygenic, bed was uncomfortable,cold water tap was hard to turn off. No food available, no staff. To sum up avoid like the plague..booked for a week left after 2 days, should be condemned

We had to ask for extra pillows, it felt like we were being a nuisance. No breakfast, no vending machines, no staff.

Basically expensive below par accommodation Booking in via web at front door took forever due to limited phone signal. No staff on site. Only 1 tea and 1 coffee in room. Shower cubicle so small I wasn't able to use due to back issues. Basic but expensive for the standard of room

First and foremost i didn't stay there as the manager was very rude and his staff, they took my money and then kicked me out, telling me to go rent somewhere else, reason being is because i asked them questions on why they needed my passport
