This hotel was really a pleasant surprise: I wasn’t expecting this given the name of this place. They only had a basic reception setup, but the meals were great and the attention to the finer details in the room and the space was impressive. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a pleasant stay and I’d be happy to stay there again.

I do enjoy a good steak and have been to Miller and Carter a few times in the past. Some workmates recommended harpers so I thought I would give it a go. Warm welcome, taken through the process of putting car registration in, then shown to a table. My order started with creamy mushrooms, I did try the Pate on my first ever visit but more on that later. The mushrooms were OK, nothing too thrilling but you need to give things a go. My fillet turned up, well cooked, well rested and I have to say, it did put other steakhouses to shame. easily the best steak I have had in a very long time. Chips great, peppercorn sauce a great addition and I also really liked the side of home made slaw. My server (Hollie) was in training and this was her first shift, she was very professional and handled her role very well, attentive without being overbearing, asking the right questions at the right time. I have been twice now and will be happy to go back.

After a disappointing lunch me and my husband returned and have to say this time was sooo much better the food was lovely , drinks perfect and staff( as before ) great , I had the hash browns to start there ere delicious and husband had pulled Pork for mains I had the pasta and husband the steak which he said was delicious No room for desserts unfortunately

Birthday Celebration. Visited in evening for family celebration. As always, great service and superb food. I had the lamb koftas. Shout out to Steve the manager. Great customer skills and attentive to detail!!

If we could give 6 stars we would! The service was impeccable. All the staff were obliging and attentive. Special mention to Steve. What a gentleman who went above and beyond to ensure our couple of nights here were enjoyable and that we had everything we needed. Also thanks to Emily. Polite, helpful and cheerful. She is very good at her job. All the staff were wonderful- bar staff, housekeeping and wait staff. Food was delicious. The rooms… after 5 months on the road traveling it ticked all the boxes. Parking, power points, fan(that actually works quietly), heater, coffee maker, comfortable bed and pillows, hooks to hang your towels the list goes on! Thank you for making our last nights on our journey comfortable and enjoyable.
