The 1708 House

The inn is beautiful and full of gleaming antiques! The family owned inn is charming and warm! Rooms are each different and tastefully done! Breakfast is the best part of our morning! A fabulous inn It’s an experience I always look forward to!

Excellent location in the center of Southampton. Car parking available. A great choice of breakfast. The best pancakes! Feel free to ask for a pass for free access to Cooper's beach. Staff very kind, helpful and accommodating. Beds very comfortable. As souvenir we bought T-shirts "1708 House" !

We had an absolutely fantastic time at 1708 House. We stayed as a family in cottage 11. It was amazing. We had the perfect blend of the facilities in the hotel and our own space to chill out in the evening. The staff at the hotel could not have been more friendly and helpful. Whatever you need, you just have to ask. The breakfast is amazing, refreshments are available to guests all day, there are beach chairs and beach towels that you can borrow. I really can't recommend this hotel highly enough and hope to visit again one day.

Based on the wonderful reviews, we chose the 1708 House when visiting Southampton. When I called to inquire about cottage 10, since my mom (a senior) was travelling with us, I spoke with Samet who was extremely helpful answering my questions. I chose to book over the phone, since I was already speaking with him. We met Samet upon check-in, and he was just as friendly and helpful as when I first spoke with him. The B&B is beautiful and extremely clean. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. We met Caroline whose family are the owners. She gave us a tour of the wine cellar/game room and a history of the house. We also met John (the Chef) who made delicious hot breakfasts, in addition to the buffet spread of bagels, fruit, pastry, etc. Happy hour with wine and cheese was a nice addition. The wine cellar/game room was a lot of fun with a fireplace, pool table, video game, tv, etc. Our cottage was quaint, very clean and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend the 1708 House. If I could I'd give 10 stars!

My children gave us a gift to spend a night at 1708 House. What a special gift it was. This B& B is amazing. Every detail was presented perfectly. The linens, plates, tea cups and the breakfast were divine. From the moment we checked in, we felt right at home. This B&B is beautiful; close to the wonderful restaurants and a scenic beach. Treat yourself to 1708 when you feel like spoiling yourself

My friends and I opted for a cottage - it was so cute! There was a fully functional kitchen, living room, a small sun room, two bedrooms, a small porch, and a bathroom. The property provides more travel-size toiletries than I expected and the main house lets us raid the fridge for drinks at any time. My only wish is that the bathtub/shower wall was lower, but we had a wonderful stay. All staff are super friendly and accommodating, it's located near some grocery shops and within walking distance to several restaurants and the LIRR. Breakfast was my favorite - we could place orders at the kitchen for omelets, toast, hashbrowns, and sausages. It was easily by far my favorite hotel breakfast to date. Backyard is large and spacious and includes hammocks. If I ever visit Southampton again I would love to return.
