Premier Inn South Shields Port of Tyne

Pleasant stay. Comfy beds and clean. Rooms was really warm, thankfully it had a fan in it as the road outside is a busy one and keeping the window open all night isn’t ideal. Although the second night we had to open it. Other than breakfast there is currently no food at the hotel, but plenty of local places deliver and the hotel will provide plates and cutlery. Breakfast was typical of Premier Inn. The young lady in charge of breakfast was really friendly and did a great job keeping everything running and organised. She also did a great job of maintaining her professionalism with some guests (29/7) who quite obviously had very little consideration for other diners or the lady herself.

The hotel is wonderfully clean and comfortable. The staff, Samantha, Helen, Chef Brooke, Valerie, the house keepers are all so helpful, friendly and caring. They go out of their way to help you. We go regularly to see our daughter and Tyne docks is only a stones throw. Will be using this hotel in the future.

The rooms were very bright and modern and a lovely big shower as well. Would've liked to have had the pub/restaurant attached to the hotel open as the closed empty one made the area look unkempt which gave a poor first impression. It also meant we had to drive to find somewhere to eat and drink and relax which was a bit inconvenient after a long drive. Despite this the staff were welcoming and the breakfast room in the hotel was fine with good food and drink options and should we have wanted a takeaway meal, we could use it of an evening as well. Despite these concerns, we had a nice comfortable stay.
