New hotel and I am trying to be fair with this review. Cons: 1.) The room classified as a Kingsize bed with a pull out sofa is a scam. The pullout sofa is not a traditional pullout. It's some kind of cheap new age IKEA type sofa that you might find in a college dorm. It literally has a 2x4 piece of wood jabbing into your back right in the middle of it. Quite frankly it's a joke they even allow this. 2. Second con, the staff did nothing to amend this problem. Pros: gym was nice and new. Fine pool.

We only stayed for a night after a late-arriving flight, and we'd stay here again if we were in a similar situation. The hotel is clearly very new, so all of the furnishings were in great condition. The gym/fitness center was reasonably well-appointed, though a bit small for the overall size of the hotel. The room was quite clean. The staff were helpful and speedy with check-in and check-out. The breakfast was decent. The waffle makers were popular, so even quite early, there was a line to use them. And there wasn't too much else that was appealing. It is a bit of a drive to the touristy parts of Portland, if that's what you're looking to do. But it was only a couple of minutes to drive to the airport and to chain restaurants and Target.

My first trip to Maine was amazing. This hotel was beautiful. I understand it only opened less than a year ago. The lobby was lovely, free breakfast, and a nightly happy hour with drinks and food. Gym and laundry facilities, and water/ice dispensaries throughout the hotel. The room was beautiful and so well led out. It was obvious the designers of this space understood the importance of maximizing space. It was one of the few hotels that did not have an alarm clock, which is so redundant these days. Had a room with 2 beds, very soft and spacious. 3 night stands, kitchen area, spacious bathroom, large closet, desk space...really, it was a perfect stay. 10 minutes to downtown Portland!

We just stayed one night while visiting family in Portland. The hotel is just a 10 minute drive from downtown. The location is near the airport and the Maine Mall. The woman at reception could not have been nicer! The rooms are large with many conveniences. We had a 2 queen suite. There were many outlets, a kitchen, with all the conveniences. It was impeccably clean. There was even an outlet and mirror in the closet (a light in the closet would have made it even better). My first experience with Town Place, but I trusted the Marriott brand. I’ll definitely return when visiting family there.

The staff was beyond rude at this hotel. We reserved a room with a king bed and a pullout sofa the pullout sofa had no mattress. It was not missing, the hotel expects a guest to sleep on wood covered by thin upholstery. The staff acted like it was ridiculous that we didn’t want someone to have to sleep on wood with no mattress or cushion whatsoever. Do not stay at this hotel. My experience at this hotel has made me want to never stay at Marriott hotels again despite having lifetime elite status from years of business travel.
