South Padre Island Inn

This place was terrible. I passed up another local motel and chose this place for my honeymoon. We had four days here, and not only was the staff rude and unfriendly, but the room was dirty, and the pictures misrepresented the actual environment. I went all out and booked the King suite, and their was nothing sweet about it. The room was dirty, the sheets had some nasty food material on them, and the shower didn't work correctly. There was breakfast if you consider toast and froot loops a breakfast. It was all around a complete letdown and a waste of money. Save yourself the grief and go somewhere else. Happy travels.

Outstanding hotel in South Padre Island TX not far from the beach and walking distance to several top restaurants. Has a nice pool and a working hot tub with chairs and tables to gather around the pool and hot tub. Outdoor grill available. Management is top notch with a long time manager that knows the hotel business and how to treat customers. Maintenance man is always available and another long time employee. Housekeepers are hard working and very responsive to customers needs and most have been there many years as well. I always seek out this hotel anytime I am in South Padre Island as I know all staff by first names. Prices are very good, and there is a small breakfast available.

I wish I could give this place zero stars but unfortunately the lowest option I could pick is a 1. We got in very late due to working late and were ready to rest. I go inside to check in and the lobby was very unkept. Food that I’m assuming was for breakfast that morning was just placed randomly on a table. Check-in took forever but since it was so late we gave it a pass. We get our keys and go to our assigned room. The first thing we notice is that lights are flickering all over the place. Good thing we aren’t epileptic. We find our room and the keys don’t work. We go back to the office and after a long wait we get new keys. We finally get into our room and our jaws hit the floor. This is nothing like what the pictures on the internet showed. Paint chipped off of every surface, A/C unit was propped up by a random piece of wood, jacuzzi tub was not sealed and looked gross and the room was just deplorable. Even our dog was uncomfortable sitting on the floor. Even the lamp on the inside of the unit was flickering. The laundry room outside was a disaster. This was easily one of the worse places I have ever witnessed. We had no choice but to leave. Later on that day I called the manager for a refund and offered to show her all of the pictures and videos that I took regarding the condition of her Inn. I was met with contempt and defensiveness, but no accountability. She also refused to give us any type of refund, even though she was aware of the condition of her Inn and that we could not stay there. We stayed there in August and are still fighting to get that refund. I would recommend that nobody stay here until this place is completely overhauled.
