Positives . staff very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Beautiful village. Excellent quality food. Room too small for an easy chair.....desk chair needed repair and creaked every time it was used Bed was too low.... for us......everyone's needs are different. Pillows too hard... seemed petty to mention it. Due to the architecture the room had very high windows leaving the room very dark with most light coming from 2 large bedside lamps. Sadly I have evening vision issues and needed to use my phone torch for enough light to read in bed. Ensuite very small and not cleaned during our stay. But it was only 3 nights. No long life milk was provided with the tea and coffee. We had to ask for some and were given a small bottle of fresh milk which of course went off overnight in this heat.....so no early morning tea! Breakfast was the huge disappointment......so highly reviewed but no one mentioned it was cooked breakfast only. No cereals, muesli, yoghurt etc. For starters small bowl of lovely fresh fruit and 2 small pastries. ...we don't eat pastries except maybe at teatime!!!! Did talk to staff about this and the chef very kindly gave me a larger bowl of fruit. Final disappointment was the coffee .. it was delicious, but was made by the cup full, not served in a jug or cafetier. It took so long for the decaff to filter through that I felt very awkward asking for a refill. Lastly the room was perfectly clean but the stairs and landing and general paintwork were sadly tired and needed a good clean and refresh. All very critical but Emma and Tim and her staff were lovely and tried their best to help us. Lovely stay for some people, just not for us. So sorry Emma 🙏
