A one night stop whilst travelling for work. Lovely pub. Rooms are as you would expect in a pub and the bar and restaurant are fab. Fish and Chips for evening meal washed down with a pint of excellent Timothy Taylor Landlord. Breakfast was fantastic and fresh cooked to order.

Arrived after lots of driving after an emotional funeral. A very warm welcome by the two staff, including one taking our case upstairs for my wife, as I am disabled. We enjoyed a pint of real ale and glass of rose as we ordered food. Very fresh food: home-made cauliflower soup followed by pasta which we asked to be spiced up! It was. The chef came and checked that we were happy. Another glass of rose for my wife and a lovely glass of red for myself. The staff were excellent with us and clearly they were also excellent with the punters in the bar. The atmosphere was one of folk having fun, talking and listening to each other, that sense of vibrancy one finds in an English country pub. The room was absolutely fine, a little rustic, but perfectly clean, lovely hot shower and we slept well. We enjoyed hearing the clock chiming in the village. We were keen to get on the road back to Edinburgh the next morning so arrived early for breakfast at 07.40 and we were delighted that the same chef helped us. The bowl of fruit, fresh coffee and tea, followed by the cooked breakfast were delicious and set us up for the day. We did not eat again until supper back home in Edinburgh! We enjoyed talking to the chef and clearly, he has huge experience and expertise. To conclude, the manner of each one of the three staff who looked after us was first-rate. We thought the food was first-rate. It cannot be easy running places like this. We need to support them. I hope others do. I used to work in the business of customer care and it is mighty difficult looking after people. Well done to the owner and all the staff!

We've just spent a night here and found the hotel delightful. A lovely room, very pleasant staff and excellent food. We enjoyed a quiet stay, were not hurried in any way. Laid back, just what we wanted. Thank you. Chris and Karen.

We used the Inn as a very convenient location for a wedding in South Luffenham. The Inn was clean and the bathroom was fine although I didn’t realise I had not booked a shower. The breakfast on both days was really nice and freshly cooked. The staff were very friendly and let us book in early

A warm welcome when we arrived, with a cup of tea. Comfortable bed in a room in the old part of the building. Great meal in the evening, with some very good beer. The chef cooked a brilliant breakfast to order in the morning. Very handy from the A1, and close to Rutland Water, where we had a lovely day cycling.

On our home from France we needed an overnight stop that did an evening meal in this area. The Coach House inn was the only one that met our needs. The evening meal was very good, originally one of us chose a roast pork Sunday dinner but that turned out not to be available along with the chicken. We were offered an off menu option of lamb which turned out to be a great choice it was delicious and a large portion. My partners fish and chips was also excellent. Emma served us with our breakfast which she cooked herself. This is possibly one of the best breakfast we have had in an English Inn. Emma was an excellent host and we enjoyed her company when we were there.

My wife and I had a great stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food (dinners and breakfasts) were excellent. They also served real ale! The room was good and clean. Its location looks isolated but everything around Rutland Water, Stamford etc. is very easy to get to and is actually in a good position for visiting places around the area. The only negative for us was that although the bath came with a shower you could not stand up to have a shower due to the low ceiling above it. But I would still give it top marks and would recommend it and be happy to stay again.

The Coach House is a lovely historic hostelry, full of character, very quiet and in a beautiful village. Everything we had at breakfast and dinner was excellent quality and Emma's scrambled egg was world-class. It was unexpected and very nice to have fresh milk in the room. We would highly recommend it.
