Black Bear Lodge

I need to point out that I have never stayed at the Black Bear Lodge despite hoping to do so last Friday. On arrival we were told our reservation had been cancelled ( the fault of our tour operator, not the hotel). At this point we could easily have been told sorry can't help. Instead a wonderful lady, Katie went online and found other hotels with space, adding her personal reviews. In our moment on panic (uk visitors are!) You helped, thank-you. As an aside the bits of the Lodge we saw looked magical with a boutique feel. The location is also helpfully away from the main "******" area. If you are visiting Tahoe this is the hotel to pick!

My husband and I have just finished a 2-night stay at the Black Bear in South Lake Tahoe and we can't speak highly enough of our time there. We've holidayed across the US several times, and we agree this is the best place we've stayed. On arrival the GM Katy who checked us in was very welcoming and friendly. The Lodge itself was stunning with a gorgeous feature fireplace. The beds were very comfy and the shower excellent. We really enjoyed our early evening drink in the bar, a very calm and relaxing environment. We will 100% be back

What a beautiful place to celebrate our anniversary. It was close enough to the water, restaurants, and shopping but far enough to not have to hear the traffic. It felt secluded in its own forest like atmosphere. We had booked the Studio Cabin. Upon checking in, we were given drink tokens to use at their wine bar. When we first opened the door to the cabin, we were surprised to see a personalized welcome sign with our name on it. It’s a nice welcoming touch. It had a beautiful fireplace, a large bed, and a diffuser next to it. The kitchenette had almost everything you might need to prepare a small meal. The bathroom had a pretty large shower with really nice water pressure. We did not use the hot tub but there were robes, slippers, and towels in the room if you choose to use it. I always worry about parking but it was not an issue here. My wife and I definitely will revisit this place the next time we are back at Lake Tahoe.

What an absolutely fantastic hotel. We stayed here for 2 nights whilst on a California road trip. This was by far the best place we stayed. We booked a king room with a balcony and the room was fabulous. So spacious with all the amenities we needed. The bed was so comfortable. The room was very clean and was so relaxing and quiet. We took advantage of the complimentary welcome drink and sat relaxing in the reception/ lounge area with the fire burning! Would highly recommend this place. If we ever return to Lake Tahoe then this is where we will be staying.

Fantastic place really friendly and could not do enough . They recommended loads of good local restaurants. Place is so peaceful and loads to do around it. Nice little bar on site and they even gave you the first drink on the house . We will definitely be back.

Very nice lodge, cozy. Every room has fireplace. They provide slippers and robes. Lobby is impressive, log style with large fireplace, nice bar. Staff very friendly. Great location close to the Heavenly.

Loved every moment at this gorgeous Inn! Bri at check in was fantastic. Beautiful grounds, lobby, room and hot tub. After much deliberation over where to stay in Lake Tahoe, I am so happy to have chosen Black Bear Lodge. Can't wait to return.

We had a lovely stay at The Black Bear Lodge - our suite was super comfy and roomy. I think we were between seasons, so it was very quiet so there was a slight lack of any atmosphere. That said, the staff were very friendly and helpful and we were very happy with our room

Over all the place was in a good location and a nice size room with a wet bar , microwave and a refrigerator. What was really poor was the water pressure in the shower there was none. We couldn’t even take a shower and I think this is essential part of your stay. We told the front desk twice and were told they would fix this. They didn’t come out during our stay to fix this issue.
