The hotel is located at a gorgeous location adjacent to a golf course with plenty of greeneries. The premise is a blend of history and contemporary charm and stylishness which is the greatest draw of the hotel. The grade of the room we had perhaps is not the highest so it’s rather basic, with minimal decor and less charm than the rest of the hotel, but tidy and comfortable nonetheless. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Overall a decent stay and might try a higher grade room next time.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Lovely peaceful location. Amenities were limited unless you pay extra which is a shame. Breakfast also has extra charges for certain food

A lovely hotel. I feel that the swimming pool and gym should be included in the price like all other hotels I’ve stayed.

Wonderful experience stay at that castle. We had dinner in the courtyard for a very reasonable price consider the food was of great quality. The health club had great facilities including a reasonable sized gym decent sized pool / jacuzzi. We would definitely stay there again as the location was great. The only minor complaint we would have is that the room was a bit cold but it is late January.

My friend and I stayed for on a Sunday Roast and Rest Sunday offer. We had a 2 course Sunday lunch which was delicious and plentiful, full use of the Health Club Facilities which were really nice and clean. The pool was just fab, the temperature was like getting in a warm bath. We then had our 2 course evening meal which was again delicious and plentiful. Reception was friendly and efficient and I would like to mention Morgan who couldn't do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was clean, comfortable with everything you need. A full buffet breakfast was included in pur price too. It was exceptional value for money. We will certainly be coming back

The grounds and approach to the hotel are absolutely beautiful. There’s lots of character and original features in the hotel itself. The rooms are pretty standard but were clean and comfortable. The spa area could do with some money spending on it. Just felt a bit tired and way below the standard of other spas I’ve visited. Changing rooms were a bit fusty for example. A lot of health club members in there who made you feel a bit of an unwelcome outsider. We had treatments at the castle spa and they were both excellent. One of the best massages I’ve ever had so huge credit to Emily and all the staff at the spa. My sister had her hair cut. She was really pleased and the staff were all lovely. We ate in the Windsor restaurant. Again the staff were lovely and very attentive during service. The food was good. Could maybe do with dimming the lights a little - it was so bright in there it took away from the atmosphere of the stunning panelled room. We also ate at the courtyard and the food was really fresh and tasty. Again friendly helpful efficient service. Would definitely recommend the spa stay. It was decent value for money - as long as you’re not expecting a luxurious spa experience.

Took advantage of the Sunday stay deal which was excellent value. Lunch in the Windsor room was marvelous, portions a bit too generous for us and felt bad about the waste. Our server by the name of Morgan was a stand out. Dinner was equally good ( once again we were served by Morgan and he is most certainly an asset to the hotel) but its in the main room which is used for events and thankfully, we were seated away from the groups of male golfers who can be a bit vocal after consuming pints all afternoon in the clubhouse. We were placed in Room #1 which I strongly advise against as there is an entrance door from the stairs, leading to the rooms. As the intoxicated golfers came clattering through the door on their way to their room, it was a disruption we would rather have avoided. Room #1 is also next to one of the conference rooms and the noise coming from there around 7:30 am is an unavoidable wake up call. The rooms have little to no soundproofing but understandable for a building if its delightful age. Breakfast was good and the Staff once again aimed to please.

The hotel was friendly and welcoming on arrival. Our room was as promised, apart from a distinct shortage of coat hangers and the fact that the hot water went off completely - twice. I reported this to the receptionist on departing, but didn't receive an apology, just an undertaking to 'report it to Maintenance.' The staff need to understand that the thought of being stuck in a shower covered in soap when the hot water goes off is not an appealing one; this is quite serious. On the plus side, the swimming pool, one of the main reasons we booked the hotel, is beautiful and spacious with a very nice hot tub at one side. The choice of fruit and healthy options at breakfast is excellent. The grounds are lovely. Some more attention to detail would benefit this hotel greatly.
