Excellent hotel with good leisure facilities

Excellent selection of quality food and drink for both dinner and breakfast. Romantic restaurant ambiance and lovely spacious bar both with tasteful decor. Received excellent polite and professional service in the restaurant. Room emaculate and again finished to a high standard. Location is perfect with sea views Would highly recommend and will definitely return.

Taken as a treat by my friend and cannot believe price charged. Room was very small , room with a view , was a tiny window you had to stand to see minimal view. Bathroom had cracked tiles, no room in toilet to swing a cat. Breakfast was not as I would expect from a 5 * very disappointing. I would not recommend to anyone.

MYSELF AND MY FIANCE STAYED THREE NIGHTS AND THE ROOM WAS FANTASTIC BED WAS SO COMFY,,MEALS AND DRINKS WERE EXCELLENT,,STAFF WERE SO KIND AND HELPFUL COULDNT DO ENOUGH FOR YOU THE WAY A HOTEL SHOULD BE ,,MADE YOU FEEL MORE THAN WELCOME ,,WE BOTH HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE HOTEL AND WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK,,THANK YOU ALL X

Really lovely hotel. The bar is a great place to eat/sit and we played a few games of pool. The room was nice, although a little warm even with the windows open. Coffee and milk wasn’t refilled when our room was cleaned which wasn’t ideal for a lazy morning. Food at lunch and dinner was really good, a nice selection of bar food and restaurant options. The only thing that let the hotel down a little was the service. The waiting staff were nice enough however drink orders take a really long time. You can also wait quite a while to be served at the table, we had breakfast in the seal bar as we were visiting with dogs, we waited 20 mins for a menu/drink order before I went to speak to the guy at the bar. We would return as the setting is lovely and it’s great being so close to the beach.

What a place! There’s a good atmosphere building in Troon just now with The Open due in July, and the hotel is no different. Spend the evening on the terrace having drinks in the sunshine, overlooking the 18th and watching players finish on the last hole…outstanding. Staff were very welcoming, attentive and provided excellent service in all areas….bar waiting staff, reception staff, concierge, breakfast room staff. We ate in the casual bar and the food was brilliant! Steak, chips and Malbec…delightful. Would highly recommend this hotel for couples, small groups and golfers. They would clearly cater for families but I’m not sure it’s really suitable for small kids, as it’s quiet, relaxing and quite boutique-like.

The (expensive) dinner was so far below the bar you’d expect from a restaurant in a hotel of this reputation. Beware the confit duck is not a duck leg, it is a cold pressed duck dish. The steak quality was poor, temperature wrong and over seasoned. There was no check back and the wait staff were doing the bare minimum. Our cocktails were also over mixed and overly sweet, but the bartender was pleasant and competent. The woman checking us in was excellent but checking out was not smooth due to incorrect room charges. The room itself was nice and clean with a comfy bed and a nice sea view (which we were FOC upgraded which was nice), but definitely small and the bathroom even smaller.
