Location was wonderful for easy access to Algonquin and a few local restaurants. Room very dated and small. Bathroom very small and shower old and difficult to use due to size. Wifi slow but that is expected in smaller communities, Staff are very friendly and helpful. $200 a night in August seems to be very high but can I realize it can be expensive to run with limited season, but this room needs a major overhaul and upgrade at these prices. Stay here for location not the room!

I loved staying at this motel. Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff, quiet, spacious and clean room. I did not stay in one of the newly renovated room and was still very happy with it. Very easy to find and close to two restaurants, a pharmacy and a little supermarket. There at the moment seems to be a little communication problem about the permits with the employees at the park. I would recommend listening to the front desk and do exactly as they say. Would 100% recommend and if I ever return to Algonquin, I’d stay here again.

Great little spot to stay. Clean, pretty new space and nice big shower with a fantastic shower head. The beds are comfy with great pillows. We went for a three day snowmobiling trip. Trails are very close and restaurant within walking distance. Gas but the trail too.

Great little motel, bed was horrible to sleep in, and I suggest some new mattresses, but the service made up for it... front desk staff was amazing... she went out of her way to ensure my every need, & there were a few, were met with a smile. Would definitely stay again... Thank you for the late check-out and loan of your personal sweat shirt... very much appreciated.

The room was pretty much exactly what you’d need. Wi-Fi was great! Very clean and not a huge room but comfortable. Great shower. I recommend bringing you’re own TP. Single ply is a little rough. Could be because it’s on septic tank not sure. Beds were good. All and all it was a great stay and we will be back!

There are no bargains to be had in the village of Whitney, because one company operates 4 of the motels - this one, the Algonquin Dream Catcher, the Rolling Rapids, and the Bellwood Inn. The same night we paid $179 plus tax to stay in this motel, the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa was selling rooms for $131 a night... go figure. This motel consists of two buildings. The older building, probably dating from the '50s or '60s, contains rooms 1 to 7. The newer building, less than 10 years old, contains rooms 8 to 11. We stayed in the newer building. Best to confirm which building you will be put in when you make your reservation. The room was clean, quiet, modern, and comfortable, but very small. There was no space for a desk, or chairs, or bedside tables. In other words, the room was good for sleeping, but that's all it was good for. It had a nice shower, big flat screen TV, a fridge, and a microwave. No dresser, no desk, no closet, no coathangers. Wi-fi was very quick, but we were the only guests in the motel that night. If you want to stay close to the eastern entrance to Algonquin Park, there's not much choice other than motels in Whitney or the lodges within the park itself. But, if you are just driving across Ontario on Highway 60 and not interested in the park, look for a hotel or motel in Barry's Bay (further east) or Huntsville (further west) and it will cost you much, much less to stay in either of those towns, probably half the price of motels in Whitney.

Rats in the room!!! We had to leave at 3am because we heard and saw a rat in the room🤢 We should have read the reviews before making a reservation because we also experienced extortion from the owners as other users have mentioned and they also refused to refund us. We recommend you to stay in Huntsville if you are planning to visit Algonquin Park.

New linens, clean, fridge and other amenities were nice. The only con was that the heat pump used to cool the room was very noisy. If noise keeps you awake you may not be happy with this choice. I suggest asking for a quiet room at the front desk, they likely have other options.
