Hotel Marhaba Club

This is the easyJet of hotels. It sucks you in with a seemingly good deal, then takes off every conceivable extra to make up for it. Loads of little annoyances: - zero information in the room or check in about breakfast/dinner times, wifi etc - although the deal says "half board" this does not cover any drink at all, not even water. The waiters came up to me and took water away on several occasions. No water in room, no kettle. They even "accidentally" took a bottle of water I'd bought elsewhere. Pushing for you to buy the all-you-can-drink deal instead. - perhaps related: there were loud and violent fights in the corridors all 3 nights I was there. One night glass in the corridor from a domestic altercation, one night screaming children, one night a guy attacked a girl. I know because the corridors are so echoey that you could hear a mouse fart outside your room. - Nothing in the room. No do not disturb sign, no bag for the laundry, no fridge, no kettle, no hairdryer, AC didn't work. Cleaners came in on day 2, took my pillowcases and bath mat, opened the door to my balcony, and left. Meanwhile there were ***** on the floor. -Staff were unmotivated and patronising. I told reception that the phone in my room was broken and she just looked at me like "and?". I lost an item and staff couldn't even be bothered to look for it in their office. Every time I asked a simple question I got treated like I was clueless and naive, when I'm an experienced solo traveller of over a decade. Pros: the rooms are giant, the pool is nice and the buffet is pretty good. But all the little irritations caused a death of a thousand paper cuts and I was relieved to leave.

Tunisia is really beautiful! The hotel and staff are amazing and very kind. The activities are really fun and the drinks are great! I had a wonderful time with my “friend”. Thank you to all the staff,especially Neno who hosted the activities.

1st time in Tunisia, still debating if there will be a 2nd! Hotel ok although, could do with some maintenance. Rooms cleaned regularly by a nice cleaning team Esau’s, who was lovely and always happy. Grounds well maintained as was the pool. Shame about the derelict buildings around the pool which was an eyesore. On the whole, staff were friendly however, Saber wins my vote for nicest staff member. He looked after us well whilst by the pool and, always had a smile. Bad bits: Some staff miserable and unhelpful (minority). Food extremely repetitive, on a daily basis. Variety of food to cater for all needs. Although, Luke warm. Plates often not washed thoroughly with residue of previous use. Flies on food. No spoons for coffee or desserts. Minimalistic choice at the bar and all drinks, no matter your choice, issued in cardboard coffee cups. There were very Young girls drinking heavily at the bar and extremely drunk. Pretty sure a couple of them were not yet 18. The bar staff encouraged them by giving them a bottle of Vodka to continue to drink despite, becoming very loud and annoying to other guests. Kettle in room but, not sure of purpose as no tea, coffee etc with kettle. There were three of us in the room but, arriving at the room, they had only catered for two with the exception of a third bed.

TUI downgraded this hotel but refused to honour my booking of a 4t hotel which I booked and paid for. I got a very poor hotel no WiFi in the room the tv did not work the room smelled of drains. The cleaner was not very good you could hardly notice she had been in. The rooms are basic and dated. All this reported to TUI rep and reception what a waste of my time that was. No pool snack bar and boarded up buildings around pool and walk down to beech. Alcohol served in paper cups in the lobby which doubled up as the entertainment area. The food was OK for a 3 star. The staff are all good and polite except cleaner. The beach is nice but the sunbeds are very old. The sun was shining everyday. It was just a shame the hotel was not as advertised.
